Did she ever get on Tv? I heard she got pregnant soon after winning and they delayed her new show.. but did she get one?

First ep was pretty crisp, did Burnett produce this show before? I have not watched since the first season.

Nope, this is his first season.

I saw a couple of episodes of some show called Paint Over with Jennifer on it a while ago. It was during the day, which is the HGTV graveyard shift for where old shows/reruns are aired. I'm assuming she got dropped from the roster. I got the impression that she received the push as a frontrunner when they learned about Mikey V's porn star past--I seem to remember him being the best designer that season.

I just finished watching the first episode. I don't like the gal who won this week. Too big of an ego.

Is anyone else keeping up with this? Glad to see "Ms. Ego" in the bottom two during the last episode.

Thought it was too early for the older then her age Texan to go but she deserved it. I hate that "Ms. Ego" is going to be around longer because she's easily the most annoying person on the show.

The guys seemed to gel really well.

the new production is looking great, but the Vern can't handle it, I really don't like his breakdowns of stuff, it's maybe edited to not let you know what he's thinking, but he trashed the guys, then trashed the girls, then told the guys they won!

Burnett has made this almost a carbon copy of the Apprentice.

Still enjoy it.

is it just me or are they focusing less on design this season? it seems like they show 10 minutes of room design and thats it. ive always thought they should have the people do a room walk through in each episode. it is a hosting job after all, but i dont really think it adds anything to the show now that i see them doing it. also i miss clive..why is he gone?

Not you. It's definitely Burnett's bad influence. The show is so focused on headbutting personalities and manufactured conflicts that there isn't time for the design aspect.

Can you imagine David Bromstad making it through on this season? He'd be eaten alive by the likes of the Megalobiatch. BTW, who the hell is ever going to hire her after this gig? She can't even deliver on the hot air she blows. Her mural was laughable, and I'm glad they called her out. Unfortunately she isn't going to be leaving anytime soon. At least her fellow mean girl admirer got booted.

We barely get to see any time spent on the designs, and the challenges seem smaller in scope. It doesn't feel right. Why even bother hinting at serious deliberations when we get to hear almost none of it. Where's the thoughtful commentary on what's good or not. Sound bites don't work here.

Not to mention Vern is sucking the life out. The two Amazons relegated to being pillars don't help. It's weird to see Gen be made mute. I don't understand why Vern has to do ALL the talking (in a steely boring monotone at that) when Gen and Candace have so much more to help round things out.

Clive should have stayed to keep it lighthearted until he 'cancels their show'.

Well, it's on tonight. I'll watch to see if things improve.

Agreed. I was home visiting my folks last weekend and we all watched. Even my dad commented on Gen being so silent. Mom was hilarious mentioning she remembered when Vern created some overly dramatic velvet rooms years ago on Trading Spaces.

3rd episode in and I'm convinced they've ruined the show.

Not much convincing needed. Every aspect is a crapfest. Nina winning again... with those squiggles? Just wrong. None of the others were any better, but do they really need to feed that ogre.

^ I third those horrible looking squiggly shit she put up on the purple wall (Nina getting recognition for that was just inane) ... and don't get me started on Vern - can we say uber bitch. I thought Alex shot himself in the foot when he mentioned the daybed not being able to make up the elevator, and then when Trent made his final comments in front of the judges just before getting booted off - not swift.

I like Tom. Although I'm guessing he's not doing much painting in his suit and rolex
