Fuck yeah. They got Dancy as the main ADA, Donovan as the replacement for Sisto and maybe Waterson reprises his role as DA McCoy.

Camryn Mannheim has been cast as the Lt. since Merkerson is still on Chicago Med.

9, which includes this show’s revival.

She was really good in Big Shot as an asshole high school coach, so I look forward to her on this.

I like Jeffrey Donovan a lot, but I feel like I’m going to have a hard time not thinking he’s playing Michael Westen.

Does he hold a record for the most TV shows in production at one time for American TV (or even world wide) ?

My guess would be the next closest to Wolf would be Jerry Bruckheimer. He had a bunch of shows in production in the mid 2000s like the CSIs, The Amazing Races and some other smaller shows.

I’m thinking without Dick Wolf NBC would lose at least half its prime time schedule.

Greg Berlanti whipes the floor with both of them. This year he had 14 shows on air.

Meh, I was hoping for some more original cast. Don't see the point if they don't get more. Name it something else.

You do know it's been over 10 years since this was on the air. Some actors are just not available. And also realistically for any police department, people quit, retire, change jobs, die or move on to other things. This isn't some IP that's about "fan service"

And it's not like they cast a bunch of 20-somethings. They cast some pretty well known veterans like Donovan and Dancy.

What 'original' cast of L&O are you hoping for? The L&O cast always fluctuated.

Though it would be great if they got Sam back as the DA. It would be great to see Carey Lowell and Angie Harmon get some guest attorney roles (though I can't imagine Angie's character as a defense attorney).

I could see Abby (Harmon's character) as a defense attorney. She's always been passionate about issues like the death penalty. Isn't Jamie Ross a judge now (Lowell's L&O character)?

I don't know if this has been brought up or whatever but man Benjamin Bratt fucked up when he left in the late 90s or whatever. Turns out he probably could have been on that show for another 10 years or so.

Abby was the most "hang them all" of the ADAs. If she was passionate about the death penalty it's because she wanted it.

Jamie was the one anti-death penalty.

Glad you guys are excited for who they cast. Not me. I will pass.

The original L&O is one of my favorite shows, so I'm pretty excited to have this back. Love the addition of Hugh Dancy. If any more of the cast were to come back, I'd definitely like to see Linus Roache back, He was great as Michael Cutter.

Paff 12-14-21 09:08 PM

Re: Law & Order -- Series Discussion Thread

I'm not a fan of Roache's episodes though admittedly Waterston is a tough act to follow. At least he was different, not a McCoy clone. But he seemed kinda smarmy and sneaky to me, at the same time.

Sam Waterston has signed on. It's a 1-year deal.

Re: Law & Order -- Series Discussion Thread

Good to see Jack back. But in general, as far as casting goes, L&O was always more about the show's formula than the characters or the actors. Sure, Jerry Orbach's Lennie Briscoe was everyone's favorite detective, but I can still enjoy a Jesse L. Martin or Chris Noth or Jeremy Sisto outing. Same with the legal team.

They just reran the episode on WeTV where a pre-teen Emmy Rossum was about to undergo genital mutilation till her dad stepped in and killed the doc who was going to do it. Yeah, she was a kid, but even then you could totally see how gorgeous she was going to be as an adult.

Now that Jack's back is Olivia going to hook up with him too?

That should be a nice paycheck for Sam for about 2 minutes of airtime.
