Jin is definitely dead. MIB is definitely evil. Thoughts from Darlton and the actors on tonight's show:

I couldn't help but notice Lapidus is curiously absent from their discussion, but that's more likely because he's just not considered important enough in light of the other deaths, rather than a clue that he survived.

These deaths just didn't have the full impact on me since the characters are still alive in the sideways reality.
HUGE episode though! I was still stunned by the casualties, just not upset over them.

I haven't seen it posted here, but it seems the finale has been expanded to 2.5 hours. The local news will not air that night. The Jimmy Kimmel special will follow immediately after. Seems they could not fit everything into just 2 hours!

He's killed people before...I take it that all the people he killed before weren't candidates and that is why he was able to take them out?
I still think that Jack witnesses the decimation of his friends. As far as my previous theory that he makes a deal with MIB...well, if a deal is made it will be interesting to see how the tables turn to where he's holding the winning hand. I don't see where MIB is going to be in the deal making mode any time soon.
I think it's going to come down to Jack rescuing Desmond, Desmond finding a way to use the island's properties to not just travel in time via the mind but physically go back in time like they did last season. They will go back to 1977, prevent the bomb from going off, they rescue Dr. Chang (thus why he's still the same age in 2004 as he was in 1977) and that somehow resets things...Jack and Desmond are on the plane in 2004 and Flocke apparently died when the island sunk in 1977.
Again, that's just been my working theory...we will see. But the playing pieces are coming together for it to play out exactly like that. I think I am pretty darn close to this theory.

And I think the people who were shocked and impacted by it don't see the sideways time line as the future of these characters. They will die, but they will get to live again in the alt time line. At least that's what I think.

Wow, great episode, and it finally set a bit of our back-and-forth to rest. Shows Locke is definitely evil, etc. Good stuff!

Same for me. I figured long ago Jack was going to see all his friends die one way or another. With this many episodes left it was only a matter of time before they start picking them off.

A very ill-timed storm was tearing through my neck of the woods. I missed about 20 minutes of the show in bits and pieces throughout the hour. Everytime that damn weatherman came on I screamed at the TV. I guess I'm going to have to watch it online.

I swear that the link said something completely different when I posted my message. It said Kimmel would air immediately after with the local news not airing. Maybe they updated the article...

And I have thought from time to time in the back of my mind what if there are storm warnings going on during the finale? I will drop one of Flocke's bombs on the TV station if they try that!

Damn, I didn't expect them to kill off that many main characters in one episode and it's not even the finale yet.
As for Sun not reminding Jin about their daughter, maybe when Sun agreed to go back to the island to find Jin, she had a contingency plan for their daughter. In case she does not/can't return, her daughter will be well taken care of.
So Sayid really redeem himself in this episode.
The one time that Sawyer should listen to Jack and he didn't.
