I have a list that I've always kept of my top 50 shows. Every so often I obviously move things around and sometimes shows have to be dropped off because of new shows. I don't count reality shows or late night shows or news programs, but that's my rule and it shouldn't be applied to your list.

So my question is, are there any shows that are airing now (not reruns) that would have a spot in your top 10 if you made a list or if you do have a list in mind or on paper?

30 Rock #8 (tied with Newsradio)
House #10

3 shows in my top 10 lasted either one season or were canceled before they finished their first season (Firefly, Freak and Geeks, and MSCL). Friends has probably slipped the most over the last few years from just inside the top 10 when it went off to #19. There are 4 ties in my top 50, including at number 1 with Buffy and The X-Files. I simply can't pick one over the other.

Big Love is 11 and Curb is also in my top 20.

I think this season of 30 Rock has been pretty disappointing and the past season of Big Love was very disappointing, so the jury is still out whether they will remain or creep into my top 10. Nothing can happen to bump Lost out and my guess is that it will still be there when I die.

The only new show I could see entering my top 50 list within a year would be Parenthood IF season 2 builds upon season 1. Modern Family would have to have at least 3 full seasons of being as good as it is now to get in. I'm still not fully sold on it.

Top 10 I'm not sure, but I know if I came up with a Top 50, Chuck would be on that list for sure.

What's your opinion of Sports Night, another short-lived show like Freaks and Geeks? Both of those are in my Top 10.

I don't have a list, but if I'm going with shows on now that I know would make my Top 50 (no particular order):

Chuck
Lost
MI-5 (aka Spooks)
Doctor Who
Vampire Diaries (I know it's early, but this first season has been so solid)

I don't have a firm top 10 but out of shows that are on right now Lost would be in there because I know it's my number 1. The Office is probably in there and depending on how Fringe closes the season out it could edge it's way in there.

Other shows definitely in the top 10 that aren't currently on are Freaks and Geeks, Buffy, Angel, The Wire, King of Queens and BSG.

Despite all of the positive things I've heard about Sports Night, I missed out on it when it was still on and, like Angel, I've never found the time to see it.

If it's out on dvd, again like Angel, eventually I will get around to it.

And despite my obvious fondness of Christina Hendricks, I've never even seen a single episode of Mad Men. Definitely something I'd consider buying a complete series box set of, if it gets the blu ray treatment.

Breaking Bad & Lost for sure.

It's a little too early in its run, but I can see Breaking Bad ending up in my Top 10.

Hmm... don't really have a top 10 thought out, but I think Lost and Dexter would be up there for me.

Lets see... Mad Men and Dexter. Chuck maybe. After Season 3 I would have said Big Love, but season 4 dropped it down a few pegs.

Right now Mad Men. More than likely Treme will end up on my top 10, too (4 episodes into its run is a little early to put it in the top 10). Justified is off to a great start, too.

Can't say I've ever sat down and made a Top 10 list.

To be in my Top list, it would have to be something that I literally cannot wait until the next episode airs.

There isn't a single thing I watch right now that qualifies.

Mad Men would make it in my top ten.

30 Rock would come close...maybe not top ten, definitely top 20.

I think there a good number of top 25 or top 50 shows on right now, but the closest to a top 10 I can think of right now is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I don't think it would quite crack that level based on its current slate of episodes.

I am loving Life and times of tim that's definately in my top ten. My top 5 include Arrested Development and Pushing Daisies.

Breaking Bad.

30 Rock, though Season 1 was still my favorite. I could see Modern Family sneaking in at some point if it keeps it up. Oh, and Scrubs, just because maybe by a slight hair of a chance it isn't really done yet.

It's one of the few things that I actually have written down, so I'm not going to type out the entire list...unless I really get bored and this thread is still relevant in a couple of days, but here's my top 10. And, yes, ties are a total cop-out, but there are only 4 on my list and I just couldn't pick between the two when they came up.

If 30 Rock isn't better next season, it will be out and I could see a strong recovery from Big Love taking its place. Or both could keep going down. Off the top of my head, Family Ties, Party of Five, Friends, Big Love, Curb, The Larry Sanders Show, Northern Exposure, and Magnum PI are some of the shows in the 11-20 slots.

With the tie, you should really bump Seinfeld to 10 and House out of the top 10. :P
