Horray to Glee to keeping its rating strong each week, with this episode having approx 12.6 mil viewers from the overnights, and with AI actually has been down.

In my opinion, it was one of the best episodes of the season. Surprised to hear people are fast forwarding through the musical numbers because you don't like the song they picked.
You do know this is a show about Music right?
Glad to have Chenoweth back. Man is she amazing.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but after reading through this thread, I can tell whose opinions I'd trust in the future ..... this was the best episode yet, with fantastic musical performances and some genuinely heartfelt emotions. One of the best hours on regular TV all seaon!

I hate to say it, but this episode was good, but wasn't my favorite.
A few of the musical numbers IMO dragged the episode down, especially Will and April's duet in the bedroom. I mean it was nice and classy, but it was too long.
Kurt's opening song was nice, but again IMO it went on way too long.
Overall, the main story was solid and I enjoyed seeing the emotional conflict that Kurt had with his father and his jealousy towards his Dad's bonding with Finn. Mercedes struggling with her diet was funny and I liked the part when she saw everyone as food. I was good to see Quinn do something in this episode and I liked that she was really compassionate to Mercedes. But, I think Mercedes speech/performance of "Beautiful" in the gym got a little too preachy even though the intent was good.
I did like April's closing number. Kristin Chenoweth is just a really beautiful and classy singer/actress.

I thought the shot of Kurt standing outside the window was a little creepy and stalkerish. It would have been better to maybe show him sitting at home alone after cutting away from Finn and Kurt's dad.

Many parts of the show were emotional, but Kurt's song was a little wierd when he was singing it to Finn, must admit it made me fell un-easy.
Heard it takes 3 weeks to put one show together, "Home" was almost a night off for the Singers/Dancers. All the background people had to do was stand there and lipsync the songs (of coarse they had to sing the songs in the studio). No big numbers to dance/sing to, and most had very few lines.
Cool to see Finn have a man to relate to.
My kids were very jealous when my wife and I took in a 14 year old whose mom was in rehab. I tried to make him feel out home and talk to him alot. They thought I like him more than I like them. We still see the kid alot and my childern are over the jealous thing.

I agree. The way they've handled his feelings for Finn has been well done. Clearly he likes him in a deep emotional way.

thought some of the kurt stuff was a little too on the nose (except the dinner/guy talk scene, which just broke my heart), but I thought the Finn/Mom stuff was handled really well. Those scenes were the best of the show for me. Everything else felt a little too intentionally emotional.

Very emotional episode. I did feel some numbers dragged on a little, but I really enjoyed this episode.

That said, I think this episode really delivered on the writing/story front. The Kurt/Finn stuff was great and I liked Mercedes subplot. The weak link for me was the stuff with April. I love Kristin Chenoweth, but her storyline just felt forced to me this time... it's like her schedule was open and they really wanted her in this so they quickly threw together some side plot to be able to include her.

I was watching with a friend who isn't a big fan of the show, but this episode caught his attention. In fact, the scene between Cory Monteith and Romy Rosemont drew particular praise.
For me, while all the drama was well played, it was unrelenting and not balanced with enough of my-cat's-reading-my-diary stuff, which is the show's hallmark.
Chris Colfer's role, while archetypal, has a depth that transcends a lot of stereotyping of gay characters on television. It's brave of him and the producers to give us so accurate a portrayal of the unique problems of gay teens. His father's attitude (a superb Mike O'Malley) is a model as well as an illustration of the conflicts parents of gay children must feel.
In fact, all the characters in the cast don't hide their flaws. We're invited to laugh knowingly and not at their quirks. This episode took us deeper, and, again, while it was well done, it's not why I tune in.

I mean, we've already seen her two gay dads, albeit in a picture. The real question is, are they going to use the same guys from the picture or just get two new people?
If people remember, one of the dads was white and the other was black. Rachel said something along the lines of "We don't know which dad is my biological dad!" Funny stuff.

I think a bigger part of that joke was that the white guy was fairly obviously of Jewish persuasion.

Count me in as amongst those who didn't love this episode. Yeah, it had a few good lines in the dialogue, but the musical numbers went on way too long and didn't interest me at all. And it felt a little too ABC Afterschool Special. First episode of the whole series I didn't enjoy.
More Dianna Agron please.
And man, could they make Kristen Chenoweth look any more like a tranny?

Some cute lines, I'm glad they are developing the back stories more, though I didn't think the songs were that great. Kristin and Matt have excellent chemistry. It was a nice change of pace not to have Rachel sing, though she has ridiculous talent. I wasn't sure Chris could be topped, but Amber was phenomenal. Great song for an overall decent GLEE.

I feel sorry for Dijon Talton, aka "Matt" on the show; Harry Shum Jr, aka "Mike" gets to showcase his dancing and both Santana and Brittany have been elevated, role-wise, giving the male equivalents to their Cheerio counterparts a chance to shine.
