Awesome episode. Loved the snippets of humor like Goodman's character going over the list of departments to be closed at the college and, of course, a little touch of Bunk Moreland humor straight from the Wire when Batiste was talking about crossing great rivers n shit.

I really feel that John Goodman is on this show so he could carry on playing his Big Lebowski character.

I like Goodman's character a lot. Wish he got more time.

I do have a concern about the show though. Seems they're more worried about casting authentic New Orleans folks rather than real deal actors in some of the bit parts. It was painfully obvious in a few scenes in this episode in particular. When they're across from a real actor their delivery just comes off as horrible and really doesn't do anything for me. :( Hope this isn't a common practice throughout. (But I'm feeling it will be.)

Good episode. I wasn't expecting Clarke Peters' character to go nuts on that kid in his house. Don't mess with him and his stuff.

I enjoyed the budweiser commercial that was Treme's pilot.

I'm tired of the guest appearances already. We get it, they're famous in New Orleans.

Loved this episode. 3 shows in and I am hooked. Some of the stuff I knew from the media about New Orleans but I didn't know about the Katrina Tour bus, the creole vs. the 7th Ward class-ism or whatever you want to call it, and the quick anger the N.O. police have, ridiculous. The body underneath the boat just makes you angry. I pretty much like all the characters on here, yes including Steve Zahn. I am definitely hooked on this show.

Solid episode.

One of my favorite things about The Wire was when they would drop a bomb out of nowhere in the middle of a scene and I thought they did that perfectly tonight with the tour bus stopping during the Chiefs' song.

Looking forward to next week
Spoiler:
Prezbo!

I'm loving this show.

Never thought I'd see The Bunk doing a stripper doggy style though

Something about this show I just really like... I really wish Bunk would have played though with the couple on the street. For some reason I was just waiting for him to start.

You must watch The Wire immediately...put the rest of your life on hold if necessary. And watch The Corner while you are at it.

Been getting this preached to me for quite a while now. This show makes a strong argument for doing just that.

Oh yeah I wish they would hurry and fix Ladonna's shingles and roof because she is about to beat the shit outta somebody if they don't.

I'm also developing a crush on Lucia Micarelli (the violinist chick).

A few random thoughts after the first few episodes:

1.) John Goodman's character seems like the leftist, academic twin brother of Walter from 'The Big Lebowski'.

2.) I don't have much sympathy for the douchey street musician guy with the hot violinist girlfriend.

3.) Seeing cast members of 'The Wire' keep popping up is a real treat. I'd love to see a s--tfaced Jimmy McNulty stumbling down Bourbon Street.

4.) I freaking LOVE this show.

This show is outstanding. I wasn't sure if Simon could do it again, but I feel dumb for doubting him. They've really got some interesting stories here, and the writing is as great as ever. Real, yet engaging. I really like all of the characters as well.

Totally agree about the violin girl as well, that dress she was sporting at the end...

Treme - "At the Foot of Canal Street" 5/3/10

Not going to bother with synopsis and spoilers since this is a day after airing.

Another good episode to what is fast becoming the best series going. Lots of Wire cameos between Prezbo, Steve Earle, and Slim Charles (again). Also got a laugh at when one of Sonny's friends said "Hamsterdam."
