Every once in a while, Trey and Matt seem to plug right into "now" and they put out a genius episode like this.

I don't know how anyone could come up with the idea for chatroulette and not have it occur to them it would be a haven for flashers...

Facebook has valid professional uses and networking. Status updates can be business-related and not random pokes or nonsense about virtual farms. I use it mainly to follow local events and to get the occasional DVD coupon. Heck, Trevor runs a DVDTalk group on Facebook.

Trevor started a DVDTalk group on Facebook. For all intents and purposes, it just kind of sits there, and once in a blue moon people post a message on it. It's not like there's activities and balloons and rides or anything. It's a pretty boring page, actually...no offense to the Mother Site here, nor to Trevor.

Some parents make accounts for their kids, even if the kids don't use the accounts, just so that the kids can be tagged in pictures and videos. That's one way to share baby pictures with friends and relatives.
Besides, even if kids aren't communicating with other people, they can use Facebook to play games like Farmville.

I thought it was HAL-9000 at first too, but it's actually supposed to be the MCP talking to Flynn, right before he digitizes him. I pretty much lost it as they did an almost shot-for-shot remake of Stan entering the world of Tron.
My second favorite part was when they were doing the gaming, and the light bars and wheels came up looking like a light cycle, and then it turned into a Yahtzee table and stools.

Wow, I've never had as big a disconnect from everyone else here. I don't think I laughed once. I was tired so maybe that was the reason. I'll have to watch it again.

I've never used facebook or chatroulette, but I know enough about them to have gotten the jokes. Still, cool tron images aside, I didn't find it that good an episode.

I roared at this episode as people at work are always talking about Facebook. Friends who have/had little clue what "online" was are on Facebook and raving "You HAVE to get on there!", so I found it hilarious.
Between the Facebook digs, chatroulette stuff, all of Randy's back and forth, and Cartman's "Mad Money" parody, this episode brought the funny.
(Plus, it had a nice, warm little ending with Kip getting all the friends. Such a typical SP moment. haha)

I didn't think it was that funny either. I never laughed during the Tron stuff, but some of the "Kip" facebook stuff was funny. The chicken/marijuana episode was 10x better imo.
