Although I am curious as to why after Walter took Peter he would just up and stop looking into the alternate universe...

Also, as for the retro intro, did you notice that a lot of the "Fringe Science" topics were not so "Fringe" in today's world?
Personal Computing
Cold Fusion
Cloning
DNA Profiling
Nanotechnology
Invisibility
Genetic Engineering
Laser Surgery
Stealth Technology
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
Virtual Reality

I've thought this for a while....I figured Peter was from the alternate universe a long time ago, and I've also figured Walternate was the Big Bad for quite some time. It would NOT be hard for them to write this...after his son goes missing, he will have clues the alternate world exists, primarily, the testimony of his wife, who will tell him that he himself took Peter. That's a great jumping-off point for him to follow, and Walternate is surely clever enough to figure things out.

I think William Bell will see Walternate's no-limits approach to science and change his stance. I think many of the other-worldly individuals we've seen in the series thus far are employees, if you will, of Walternate. Bell has already attempted to circumvent their efforts by speaking with Olivia in Momentum Deferred.

Great episode!
When Walter opened the doorway back to our universe with the handheld gizmo, it brought back memories of Sliders and the timer. Just like in Sliders, if Kromaggs start showing up in Fringe, I'm out.

But, just because a body like a human being or a building moved from one side to another, the mass that needed to be balanced wouldn't necessarily need to be another human or building, it could be air, water, dust particles. There's no way that the forces at play could distinguish between the mass of a human and a big rock. It would just balance out whatever it needed to balance with whatever was most easily available.

Hmm it is possible, but in my opinion it's not the reason why WB is on the other side, because the blondie girl (which name I can't remember now lol yes I'm that bad with names) have been on the other side and nothing pointed to Peter.
This adds a new question, since that boldie girl went to the otherside and nothing did come to "this" side to balance... maybe it's is a glitch on the producers... I dunno

Not to be a coin-nerd, but it bugs me that they keep referring to that silver coin as a dollar. It's a Standing Liberty half dollar (1916-1947). {grumble}
