Re: AT&T Uverse

I have had uverse phone and internet for a year and a half. Both work great and zero downtime. I got Uverse tv for the first month, but hated it. One HD stream, lower than dish picture quality, slow scroll time on the the on screen guide, and when changing channels the screen would go black for about 7 seconds.

I am a power surfer on the TV, so that last one is intollerable.

They didn't tell us we would only get 1 hd feed until after it was hooked up, which I thought was kind of crooked too.

Just made the appointment for the switch. Leaving Comcast behind feels nice. Anyone have any newer impressions of the service?

Had it for a while now and my biggest complaint is the lack of AMC HD. Everything else about the service has been pretty good so far.

FWIW, I've been requesting AMC HD for a while now. I'm sure it couldn't hurt if others wanted to do the same: http://uversechannels.att.com/

Crap, I have that with Comcast right now. Hmmm but I will be gaining some HD channels I've been wanting forever with the switch so hopefully they get it soon.

Well off to a banner fucking start already. Supposed to come and install today but when they didn't come I called and lo and behold my installation date magically changed to this Wednesday. Lots of bitching later and they offered $100 off my first bill. They are lucky I loathe Comcast as much as I do.

Re: AT&T Uverse

My brother has had UVerse for a couple months now and loves it. He had DirecTV before and while the picture quality isn't quite as good (nor as good as my Comcast picture) it's still very good. The internet is much faster than his prior DSL with AT&T and he's saving some money on it so it's worth it. Granted, the local AT&T office is literally right across the street from him so I suspect his service may be higher quality than what some people are experiencing but still I'm impressed with it. I'm getting a helluva good deal from Comcast and UVerse isn't available at my house otherwise I'd seriously consider it myself.
