Best episode of the season, and one of the best of the series. For the first time, I felt sorry for Ben, to see him be in control and now he's nearly worthless, quite an arc.
Also felt for Richard. We got some pretty huge hints on him this episode as well.
And of course, WIDMORE IS BACK! Let's get shit started.

for only having 9 episodes left this show is really limping along, another lame boring episode where not much happened or anything really revealed. Theres been no urge or excitement to see a new episode. Every other episode usually had me excited for the next episode, usually I could not wait to find out what happens. This season, I could care less its, been the worst season of lost. I really enjoy the "flashbacks" as tonights was excellent, one of the best in a while but the island stuff has been LAME.
ABC has been advertising this season as, the time for questions is over, the time for answers is now!, but so far nothing has happened this season. it just seems to be moving somewhere dumb. Jack seeing the reflection in the mirror in the lighthouse was lame, the stuff with Lock and the smoke monster has become boring and lame.

Heh, thought Ben would be smart and tell the principal he was going to write the letter of recommendation and then resign.
Also unclear as to why Alex's mom off island (assume it's still Danielle) would need to work two jobs to make ends meet. Wasn't she a scientist?

I love how Widmore waits around 20 or so years, then just ups and parks his submarine off the coast. The question is how did he know what was going to happen, about the upcoming war, and when he should go back.

Awesome episode. Loved how Linus chose to 'save' Alex this time around. Kinda redeeming for his character.
I literally laughed out loud when Richard jumped out of the bushes. So we're to believe Jacob granted him immortality for his 'wish?'

What a beautiful episode. Best since the Locke episode.
So...does this mean that everyone Jacob touched is now immortal on the island like Richard and can't kill themselves? I think this means that Jacob very well could have touched Michael, which is why he couldn't kill himself.

Also did anyone notice that Richard said anyone Jacob touches has the gift, implying can't die or kill oneself at least.....oops just noticed others mentioned this as I was typing.

Some interesting lines ....
"You spoke to Jacob? What ever he says, don't believe him." - Richard
"I sacrificed my daughter and he didn't even care" - Ben

Re: Lost -- "Dr. Linus" -- 3/9/10
Well, they seemed to make an extremely concerted effort to garner lots of sympathy for Ben. I love him anyway, but I wonder what they are setting up with that.
I was really wondering if DR. Linus was going to throw Alex under the bus "again". I'm of course super glad he didn't, but since he was going to blackmail the principal anyway, why didn't he go ahead and include writing Alex that recommendation letter as one of the things the principal had to do or else be exposed for screwing the nurse? Eh..
It was interesting to note the brazen display of faith that Jack showed with Richard and the dynamite. Huh.

I, too, liked the faith Jack suddenly has thanks to Locke.

Maybe, If I was Richard it would piss me off more that Jacob isnt talking to him, rather Hurley. Richard worked for the guy for a long long time, and Richard sounded like Jacob promised but didn't pay his check!
