If the bodies arn't buried, (Yemi, Christian, The French Team, Claire)MiB can claim them IMO. This is why Widmore's mercs buried the bodies in S4, or why Richard insists on taking the dead bodies via the Dharma truce.
And Patchy. He said the fence was at non-lethal setting, but then he took a spear to the chest and swam away to blow up Charlie.

After seeing Jin skip back to young Rousseau, I too was thinking she was the one infected and not her team. But, after seeing the skeleton of the armless guy in the temple it's possible smokie did take them over.

McElhenney said that he met some of the Lost writers, and they all liked each others show and they invited him on.

We were led to believe, and 2004 Claire believed the psychic knew the plane was going down. I was surprised to see there was actually an adoptive family waiting where he told Claire they'd be.

I'm not sure if everyone forgot, but we knew there were Others at the Temple. Sometime before Ben shot Locke at the Pit, he told Richard to take the Others to the Temple (Ben and Alex would go to meet the Losties before they got to the radio tower).
And, Ben told Alex, Karl, and Rousseau to go to the temple, and that the rest of the Others are there. We didn't know there were other Others there, but everyone seems surprised anyone is there.

And, because the damn snow my satellite went out for about 10 - 15 seconds after Sawyer threw the ring. I was thinking, they're probably revealing everything right now. I'll have to catch the replay next week.

Nitpick: McElhenney chewing the scenery was terrible in his small part.

Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

Did anyone notice the temple other in the scene where they were all pointing their guns at Sawyer? He was in a Doritos commercial last year. I've heard Damon and Cuse love Cool Ranch Doritos and decided to give him a small role after a long night of writing and "Cool Ranching" (as they like to call it). I thought he did a great job in his role tonight and hope to see some backstory in future episodes.

Would prefer more time spent with the characters we invested in than "Dorito Guy," and that's not to slight his acting.

Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

In the original 2004 as the plane was wrecking over Otherton, Ethan was working on Juliet's plumbing, and then Ben sends him to the Losties camp ("A Tale of Two Cities").
Now on the same day the plane lands, he is working in a hospital near L.A. So it appears in the new 2004 timeline, the island really does sink. If the island existed, he would have been there working on the plumbing.

"What Kate Does"?

Whatever anyone tells her not to do. You would think that Sawyer....James....whatever would realize that by now. Instead, he tells her not to follow him, insuring that she does.

RPG explosion is right around 11:00 mark, Sawyer finds her at 14:17 mark, didn;t really see a part in this episode where Miles interacts with her.

all episodes are available on hulu until 12/31/10

I think we will eventually find out these two timelines/realities are connected somehow
maybe in a Memento-ish way we are getting the ending of the season at the same time we are getting the beginning.

Can someone give me a summary of the last ten minutes or so? I fell asleep right after Kate and Sawyer sitting on the dock of the bay.

Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

Loved this episode.

Hiroyuki Sanada making Jack spit out the "medicine" had me LMAO.

I can't believe it took Damon and Carlton 6 years to cast someone like Sanada on the show. The torture scene was awesome and I think he owned every scene he was in. I loved the intense glances he had with Matthew Fox. It was just cool badassness.

So Sayid's "Infection" is related to Claire going to the dark side?

Thought the scene with Sawyer going back to his house and digging up the engagement ring for Juliet was bittersweet.

I'm not really good at analyzing and overanalyzing every scene of this show which leads to 30 pages of discussion. But, overall I was very entertained with this episode.

I'm a bit confused. Didn't Richard (and Ben) make a big deal about "dead is dead" last season? That conversation doesn't make any sense for Richard if he knows about this resurrection/darkness possibility, which the earlier insistence on taking the dead bodies seems to imply. And if he does know about it, shouldn't he have had MAJOR red flags about fake-Locke last season, not just a vague "something's different" feeling? (Possibly I'm misremembering details; did Richard not actually know last season that Locke had been killed? He must have, right? That's why they would have been having those conversations in the first place.)

EDIT: Just rewatched relevant part of S5 finale. Richard does know Ben strangled Locke, and is astonished, asking "How are you alive?" and "I've never seen someone come back to life" and giving no hint of any "infection" suspicion. So from this, Richard seemingly does not know about people being infected by the "darkness". But then, why does Richard insist on taking dead bodies as mentioned above? And the Others in the temple behave as if testing for this darkness infection is a fairly routine procedure, so clearly it's known to them. Maybe Richard just follows orders from Dogen but has not been told what they know in the temple about "the darkness".

I thought Goodwin had the monopoly on Juliet's plumbing.

Did we see Kate hit Mac with her rifle like he said she did 3 years ago when she escaped prison? Me and my gf had no recollection of that.

The big reveal was that Claire is alive and playing Rousseau games on the island.

THAT'S why the island sank... there was no one there to fix the leak!!

Now it all makes sense.

I figured with the footage of the foot and the playground under water, it was not a question of IF the island sank but WHEN it sank.

IIRC, the warning was actually that terrible things would happen if she didn't raise the baby herself. He was very against the adoption. That's what made most people think he knew the crash on the island would happen, since he changed his tune and told Claire to take that specific flight.

Yeah, I rewatched that season a year or so ago, after having been introduced to It's Always Sunny and got a good laugh out of it.

later on (29:30), while inside the house, claire walks out of a room with Aaron.

Sawyer: are you alright, sweetheart?
Clair: I'm a bit wobbly, but I'll live.
Miles: I wouldn't be too sure about that.

I'm digging the Dogen character, and the Dogen/Jack scenes were great. Plus, the Claire cliffhanger was fantastic, so all in all, it felt like an above average Kate episode.

Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

Also, didn't Kate claim she was innocent of her crime to Claire? Yet another instance of the time-line being slightly skewed because in the original time-line she was definitely guilty of her crime.

I like the concept of things playing out how they did on the island but in their normal lives now without the crash. I wonder how Arzt will blow up now.

It wasn't that definitive. She said, 'Would you believe me if I told you I was innocent?' and Claire responded that she would believe her. Kate just kind of went mute after that and gave her a look. I read Kate's reaction to be that she was guilty and wasn't going to lie to Claire about it, but it could also be interpreted as her implying her innocence.
