Cartoon Network To Launch Full "Teen Titans Go!" Series in 2013

Featuring the principal voice cast from the original series - Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Scott Menville as Robin, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven and Hynden Walch as Starfire - Teen Titans Go! recaptures everything audiences loved about the original show, while adding laughter at the lighter side of being a super hero. This side-splitting series will premiere on Cartoon Network in 2013 as part of the DC Nation programming block.

No, they're competitors. They also take playfull jabs at each other every so often. For instance, iCarly has a running gag with a kids network called the Dingo Channel whose founder's head was cryogenically frozen and kept in the Dingo Studios' vault.

Disney's Phineas and Ferb is supposed to be pretty good, and they have shows made specifically for their XD channel that skew a little older (the new Tron cartoon, for instance). But I watched some Avengers over the weekend and man they shoved a lot of stuff in there; they basically had an episode of just Thor in order to get in Simonson's Beta Ray Bill origin, they had Korvac with guest stars the (newer) Guardians of the Galaxy (with Rocket Raccoon!) and they're going into a Secret Invasion arc that goes back to season 1.
Still, I like Young Justice a bit better, in both animation style and storyline, especially since they're going places that are totally different from the comic universe (and also partially because I miss the traditional DC universe, which no longer exists in the comics). Still not completely caught up, but overall I think they handled the time gap well and it opened the story up a lot more.
Nice touch with the animated series Justice League being the ones to go on trial, and Icon being their intergalactic trial lawyer.
As far as the shorts go... does ANYONE like that claymation/British one with Superman/Batman/Robin/Joker/Catwoman? Ugh.

I've laughed at the claymation shorts. But it's an uncomfortable laughter. The kind you do when you don't get what the hell is going on.

The shorts have been largely unwatchable. You can't entertain in bursts of 30 to 60 seconds. The only great one so far was the Justice League MAD parody song. The claymation ones are so bad I wonder how they ever made it to air.

I really enjoy the Claymation ones, it's the same exact format of "Creature Comforts" which was interviews with kids/people animated as animals. Tonally it is pretty different from the regular DC stuff, so I could see people don't liking it, but as a fan of the original show, I like it. It's kind of a nice contrast. I've hated the Teen Titans ones though I have to say.

I like the Super Best Friends Forever shorts, but overall the DC shorts are kind of disappointing.
On the other hand, I love the Marvel Mashups after The Avengers on Sundays.

The Teen Titans shorts are decent but I'd rather the actual show come back than this "even more kiddiefied" version be presented in long form.
Those are the Supergirl/Batgirl/Wonder Woman shorts, right? If so, those are lots of fun. I particualrly enjoyed when Superman was fighting Supergirl because she was grounded.

/\ Yup, that's the one. I like the style and tone of these shorts.

Though having Dr. Midnight in there kinda made me scratch my head a bit.
The Teen Titans Go ones are gold. The one where they were fighting Mad mod and went through several different iterations of Titans was great.
I like the animation style and zaniness of the Animal Man ones, esp. the Darkseid one.
Plastic Man is zany and fits in pretty well.
the Super Best Friends Forever ones are probably the best, done by the My Little Pony series creator, Lauren Faust.
Only seen the first of the Atom ones, but I was a big fan of Sword of the Atom as a kid.
The Vibe one was just weird. Why feature this character? Same goes for the Superman baby/Japanese ones, which I know were going for style but just don't seem to fit in that well.
But I still don't get the Wallace and Grommit one. Are you saying that they're getting kids to say stuff and then animating around it? I just don't think it works, all I see is a mentally challenged Batman doing weird stuff with straight-man Robin watching.
Much, much better than the Marvel animation shorts, which are basically old episodes of the Hulk or Spidey and his amazing friends redubbed to be funny.

The last YJ episode was wild with all the fake-outs with Aqualad and Artemis.
Hope this new TTGO cartoons doesn't get YJ cancel.
I never liked the original TT cartoon and the shorts have been hit or miss.
My favorite being the Mad Mod Time Travel short.
Sword of the Atom continues its excellent. Needs to be longer, like around 10 minutes.

Yeah, they don't write them. They do a bunch of interviews with real people (kids in this case) and then edit together what they think are the funniest bits and then animate to it. It's the same technique they used for the Penny cartoons on the old Pee Wee's Playhouse show.

According to producer Greg Weisman, the show is on hiatus.

They just showed ep19. The next two weeks are ep20 & ep21. So if they're going to rerun the end of Season 1, it'll probably be mid-August.

Why would they start the new season only to run 7 episodes? It probably won't come til the fall.
