Lost--All good things must come to an end but....

I love this show and last season was great but here is what I'm afraid of. I would say 80 percent of the TV shows that actually has an ending never ends well. They've always been a let down. Very few shows have great endings, ones that satisfy the fans. I'm just hopeing for the best and that the writers will have an ending that will blow the fans away. Something that we don't see coming. You guys know what i mean.

Eh, there's nothing wrong with this thread because it is really targeted at endgame discussion. Though I'm sure there'll eventually be a "Lost - Now that it's all over / Series discussion" thread on May 23rd.

According to Groucho, the numbers for the season 6 premier were good. So we may get a season 7 of nothing but epilogues.

I love how the thread nazis get so easily pissed off around here, they act like every new thread that is created takes $100 out of their own pocket.

I was going to add another smart ass comment like some of the others posted but I figured I'd just get myself added to even more ignore lists...

Damon Lindelof on the ending:

"We worked so hard to basically do something that we didn't feel had ever been done before, which is taking a heavily mythologized show and arguing for an end date three years out," Lindelof said. "So we feel like it's kind of a slap in the face to all of the fans ... [for us] to not deliver an ending."

Good thing someone also started a thread just to announce the May 23 end date.

The DVD Talk forums have moderators and rules to keep discussions civil and on topic. Part of this civility and focus comes in the form of an admonition to members to think before they post.
Gently nudging people away from starting a thread every time an idea pops into their head, instead of trying to find an existing thread that would be appropriate for your thoughts, is in the spirit of "Think before you post".

I wish someone would open a thread compiling all the Lost threads.

I can see where you are coming from but... if I wanted to say "hey everyone, I'm about to start watching Friends for the first time. Does it matter if I watch them in order or not?" the best thing would be to search from the archives and post that in some random old topic from 5+ years ago and then dealing with the same people who jump on those for starting a new topic doing the same with the usual "way to bump an old topic!!!!" replies?

See the issue? It's a lose-lose for some people.

Re: Lost--All good things must come to an end but....

I think that if you can find an existing thread on the first page that would be an appropriate place for you to post your comment about a show, and you choose to open a thread instead, then you deserve to get some crap about it.

There are four LOST threads going right now in TV Talk, and two threads about "perfect" movies in the movie forum. It's just unnecessary.

Internet forums are famous for having people with a "First-y"(!!) mentality that leads people to think that every tidbit of information, or every thought they have, is deserving of its own headline.
