Just in case anyone is interested to know:

Pretty good ratings last night: 12.4 million for hour 1, 11.75 million for hour 2.

Great news. Maybe it'll get an early pickup for Season 7!

By the way, Sayid is actually the first character to (physically) come back from the dead on the show.

(assuming he's not possessed of course)

Stop it. You're going to cause mass chaos saying these kinds of things.

Perhaps being dark meant Jacob was 'in it' and would not only heal, but take over the body? Who knows.
I was thinking the water was dark because Jacob was dead. (kind of)

Did Jacob disappear from the fire? Because the pit looked pretty clean to me. (no charred remains) How was he able to get around in his same body to find Hurley?

Speaking of Obi Wan and Star Wars, the prequels are the perfect example of a case where over-explaining something (the force) isn't always a good idea.

For me, what makes the "LA X" segments unlikely to be a flashback is what Sawyer said to Jack when they first re-appeared on the present-day island. He said "You were wrong! You said we could stop it from ever being built! That our plane would never crash on this island!"

That, to me, implies that the plane still did crash. Plus, the Losties still have their memories of trying to detonate the bomb. If that plan had worked, those memories would not exist.
I saved last night's ep on my DVR because I knew I'd want to review it. And you're right on all counts.

But IF this theory is true (hey Josh, I put the IF in caps just for you) we don't know what brought them to the island and what's transpired in the intervening years. The stewardess wasn't lying -- they were on 815 with her in this timeline. But she never said it crashed -- because it didn't. And they might have tried to blow up the hatch in this timeline too thus the fight between Sawyer and Jack. Who knows? Like everyone else I'm just guessing.

How about this theory: when Juliet set off the bomb she killed everybody. The scenes where people are imagining themselves still on the island are from the point of view of the characters in purgatory. The scenes where the people are imagining themselves in LAX are the view of the characters in hell.

Prove me wrong.

Groucho, I have no problem equating LAX with hell.

You should know better. Characters on Lost don't ask questions that any sane person would inquire about.

I know. When they brought Sayid into that pool, I was just screaming at the TV, waiting for one of the Losties to ask "What are they doing?"

So this is a question that doesn't pertain specifically to this episode, but no one I know has an answer..... Why did Jack feel like he had to lie about the island? I presume that the people on the boat sent by Widmore already told him about the island, so why are the Oceanic 6 not talking about it? Or is this a case of the O6 not realizing that Widmore already knows and Jack was saying not to say anything about the other survivors because he's not sure who sent the ship and he wants to protect the island from whoever sent the ship?

The more I think about this, the more I'm sure Juliette was referring to her and Sawyer's ovulation chart. Something is just lost in translation.

Maybe the NC Losties keep on living their normal lives and the island stays underwater, but they find out that in order to set things right they must send clones of themselves to the island that's floating in outer space, and that's what we're seeing in the other timeline.

This is is the only theory that makes sense so far. Thank you.

What an intriguing idea! Wish I had thought of that...

Now I have to wonder if Emille De Ravin was only brought back to play Claire in No Crash timeline. We last saw Claire hanging out with Christian and then she just disappeared in Crash timeline.

Not too crazy about Jin and Sun in No Crash timeline. It reverts Jin to the arrogant prick that Sun hated and was ready to divorce and I thought it was funny how she hesitated to the customs official about being able to speak english.

Regarding Jin, was I the only one who thought he was having a change of heart as he looked out the window while descending into LA? It seemed like he was contemplating disappearing with Sun in America and leaving Paik and his work behind.

Like fate wanted Sun and Jin to be happy together the way they found each other again on the island.

No way, we have not seen the last of her on the island.

Wasn't Charlie technically dead in season one? Of course, Jack revived him, but I think his breathing and heart had stopped.

Also, it's nitpicky and totally unrelated to the plot, but Sawyer and Kate hopping into an elevator at LAX took me out of the show for a minute. Unless someone has a ton of baggage or is handicapped, nobody takes elevators at airports.

Or maybe a fugitive and a con-man trying to stay out of public as much as possible?
