I'm not sure why, but "24" has a way of forcing former characters that the audience loves back onto the show despite there not being an immediate need for them. They did it with Teri later in season 1 when she got amnesia. They did it all season long in season 2 with Kim. They did it with Sherry Palmer and her contrived storyline in season 3.
Instead of allowing non-essential characters to naturally fit into the storyline, they fit the storyline around certain non-essential characters. Still love the show, but I think it's the producers' biggest mistake since day one with this series.

Looks like Sutherland needs some of Jack's smarts. Geez, this guy is in the news a lot:
AP--STOCKTON, Calif. - Actor Kiefer Sutherland was among cattle customers roped into an alleged scam that netted more than a million dollars.
Prosecutors say Michael Wayne Carr of Linden had agreements to buy steers in Mexico for his customers and sell them for profit in the United States. Carr allegedly took $869,000 from Sutherland, star of the Fox TV show "24," and $177,000 from a New Mexico couple.
Prosecutors say there's no record Carr bought the steers and say Carr sold steers that didn't belong to him.
Carr is charged with 12 felonies, including grand theft, forgery and embezzlement. He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday, but a judge postponed it to Feb. 8 after his attorney was removed.
If convicted on all charges, he faces 18 years in prison.

I don't understand how these scammers get celebrities to talk to them long enough to get money out of them. I couldn't even get an autograph out of Ellen Page at Sundance!

Was trying to figure out where I've seen Vladimir before, then it struck me. He was caught at the Ragnar Anchorage scrounging for weapons back in Season One.
I expect he and Dana/Jenny will hook up.
