Yeah, that's the way I remember it. The "Final Five" were the last survivors of the thirteenth colony called "Earth," who came to prevent the same catastrophe on the other twelve, though they arrived too late to prevent it. They then managed to negotiate a deal with the Toaster Cylons to help them create fleshy, human-like Cylons, and that's why the war ended. I can't remember if the Final Five arrived during the war, or if there's enough wriggle room there for them to show up during "Caprica." fleshy, human-like Cylons that then proceeded to not only re-enslave the toasters but install chips that restricted their ability to think for themselves. The Ones basically treated the mechanical cylons worse than the humans originally did

One thing I didn't understand - why did the mafia planet guys need Adama to deliver a message to the gov't minister if they were just going to whack him anyhow?

I guess I figured they assumed that would be his reaction anyhow. I'd figure the mafia would kill someone close to him or put a Caprican horses head in his bed or something. Guess it works different there.
