Chicago is completely sold out, it seems. I note that Conan has two weeks off between his Chicago dates and his next show (New York). I wonder if it would be worth it to buy tickets to an IO or Second City show for the night after his second Chicago show on the off chance he drops by. Probably not -- Conan doesn't have a connection to any of the Chicago troupes.

Now all the scalpers got all the tickets I would imagine the biggest culprit in things selling out so quick would be Twitter. It was absolutely blowing up with Conan tix talk this morning. |

Except for adding 2nd shows now. I just think I'm pissed because my friends can't make up their minds on whether to go or not, and now we can't.

This is why I'm cool with buying a solo ticket. I don't need to sit next to my friends to have a good time. I see them enough as is. Hell, we'll be getting drinks before and after anyway.

Heard the announcement from here. My girlfriend is at a concert and not reachable now, so I figured, screw it, I'm doing this anyway. If she can't get off work, I'm certain there are quite a few others who can.

The only way to keep the scalpers out of the picture is for Conan (or whoever) to charge what the scalpers are going to charge. But then people would be bitching about the prices of the tickets.
Scalpers are a part of life and will be around as long as the demand is greater than the supply and people keep buying from them. Deal. |

the best way to defeat scalpers is to pickup tickets at the door on the night.
Take your tickets - provide id, and walk into the venue with a wristband. It's the only way. |

Honestly, any show that I've been to where the show is "sold out" is usually a crock of shit. Saw Spice Girls' reunion tour (don't mock me) two years ago, all three nights in Vegas sold out within a week. I went during the second night, not even half of the auditorium was full. Saw Lady GaGa a few months ago, another sold out show that was about 75% full. Only sold out show I've seen that was a true sell out was Muse back in December. |

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Can Jay Leno win and lose at the same time? The latest ratings have the "Tonight Show" host winning the late-night battle but struggling to conquer the long-term war. "Tonight Show" led the late-night crop last week among total viewers and the key adult demographic (4.4 million viewers, 1.2 rating in adults 18-49), beating CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman" (3.8 million, 1.0). Then there's the nagging comparisons with Conan O'Brien and Leno's own performance from last year. For the second and third weeks since his return to late night, Leno is down from comparable dates in 2009, slipping 13 percent in the demographic and 3 percent in total viewers. The concern is that not all of Leno's audience has returned to the show. In addition, this week the median age of Leno's audience is 56 (Letterman's is 54; O'Brien averaged 46). For the industry to perceive that NBC made the correct choice in keeping Leno, another key hurdle is that the "Tonight" host stay above the ratings O'Brien scored during his tenure as "Tonight" host. But for the past couple weeks, Leno has barely topped O'Brien's average -- 1.2 to O'Brien's 1.1 -- even though O'Brien endured inferior lead-in ratings from the 10 p.m. hour (Leno's short-lived primetime effort). The gap between hosts is a bit bigger, however, if one uses O'Brien's fourth-quarter rating of 1.0, before his impending exit caused his numbers to climb. |

O'Brien's ratings were never strong even before the Jay Leno premiered, so it really does get tiring for "Team Conan" to keep on dragging the Jay Leno Show lead in excuse for his poor ratings. What is next? Jay blames the Marriage Ref?
When will either one just man up for their own performance? |

Except they were. He consistently beat Letterman until Leno's show started, after that they were neck-and-neck.
