I enjoy Pawn Stars and I am starting to get addicted to American Pickers. I recorded the first episode of the new series Chasing Mummies the other night but haven't watched it yet. Did anyone catch it?

I did and I had a hard time deciding if it was a scripted show or not. If not, that guy is a giant douche.

I like American Pickers, and at least you can say there is some historical value in some of the things they're finding.

I like Pawn Stars but never got into anything else on this channel. Even at that Pawn Stars isn't must see TV for me.

I have it recorded but havent seen Chasing Mummies yet, it looks like an actual history show but made into a reality show according to what I read.

Im not surpised if that Zasi or wahtever is a douche bag. Hes a fucking Egypt whore and EVERYTHING EVER DONE ON EGYPT HE COMES OUT IN! Its annoying but about time they gave that whore his own show.

Basic cable is becoming a trash heap. The channels don't even try to maintain the integrity of their themes.. History schmistory, now it's all reality shows. Music schmusic, both MTV and VH1 are 24-hour reality-show channels. Syfy is on its way there... even the Style channel has a show about a chick who talks to ghosts or something, has nothing to do with "style". They're destroying their own brands and dumping their niche status to fight for a place at the trough of ratings that comes with least-common-denominator "reality" scum-guzzling television.

[p.s., it's not reality. Reality TV is just as staged and directed as "scripted" television.. only with piss-poor acting.]

I like Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers Lisa Kelly , Sliced was kind of cool, Top Shot is not bad. I watched Chasing Mummies boy was it over the top, I have a hard time believing it's real. I really miss Deep Sea Detectives .

Finally caught Chasing Mummies and I dug it!

It seemed almost too scripted with that girl getting caught in the pyramid! And damn was Zahi a dick. If he talked to me like that (and what they showed throughout the season) Id knock his teeth out.

My wife and I tried to watch Chasing Mummies, but holy shit was it bad. Maybe the most heavily and obviously scripted reality show I've ever seen, which is too bad because without the drama this could've been a pretty interesting show.

Speaking of scripted or real. I was watching truTV and they have 2 shows that seem fake as hell to me. Operacion Repo and All Worked Up, they look staged and seem like some guy was making a funny youtube video instead of a reality show. I seen another Repo show on A&E or something called Reposession I think and it looked 100X more real than either of those shows. the camera angles they get seem to produced to be real

Zasi yelling at the girl who peed in the tomb was hilarious.

I'm almost certain that operation repo is entirely staged now. Maybe it was real a ways back, but it's ridiculous now, and they would have been sued out of existence by now with the way that big bald dude essentially assaults people.

I remember in 2005 they had the Last Days of WWII series on the 60th anniversary which was a good experience and had an urgent feel of everything crashing around. Man can't believe Japan still held out 4 months after Germany's defeat.

The Aprentices are complete shit. Theres NO WAY they can be archeologists. One bitch quits cause shes not having fun and another (Zooey) pisses in the pyramid, just says ohhh and ahh and asks so many questions about shit she should know, and flat out refuses to go into pyramids cause shes scared. Than she quits. To be working with Zahi, just getting him coffee is something REAL archeologists would kill for.

I agree I love Chasing Mummies Zahi can be a hard ass, but those apprentices were total pussies. Derk is the only one left, but seems like a dope too.

This channel is a mere shadow of its former self..they need to change the name to the Doomsday Channel..

Zahi is a real ass. This show is OK. It gives you some insider's look at some Egyptian pyramids and the like. There is little real information provided because they seem to major on all the drama.

The Universe is OK as well. Not really history, but still a good show to watch.

I prefer the Speculation Channel. Because half the stuff from The Universe and such is just speculation based on probability and theoretical physics.

Oh yea, Zahi is a total dick, but if I was surrounded by morons as well Id be a dick too. I kinda see where hes coming from and when I run things, Im pretty much the same way. Though he is a bit harsher.

And what the fuck is this Swamp People show I saw a commercial for? It said it was highly rated and Ive never heard of it.

"The Bible" their highest rated show isn't without supposed inaccuracies.

Have you seen the ads for the new series about deer hunters? Seriously. They go into residential areas where deer are tearing up back yards and stock up on venison.

Thing is, shows like this are what fund specials like Vikings and The Bible.

I did and thought it was pretty vile.
