You could tell he still really dislikes Leno. He said he was offering to fix it for them but it was mostly him doing a Leno voice telling Jay's wife to go get him car parts and Carson Daly jokes. He didn't mention Conan hardly at all.

They updated the site with Letterman and Ferguson comments. I was dying during Letterman's Leno impression.

Holy shit... LOL, Conan finally unleashes on NBC, this is the type of humor he should have been doing at the beginning of his new time slot, instead he ended up doing very safe/milk toast Leno-like crap. I knew we were in trouble the minute they announced Green Day as the first Tonight Show music act last summer. As we all know Conan in his old time slot would have had less "mainstream" music acts, sadly, he pretty much went the sell-out route with Top 40 bullshit.

Obviously Conan's old show worked for it's time slot, and probably would not have translated to well with the "blue-haired" Jay Leno demographic.

A lot of good can come from this, hopefully when this fiasco finally shakes itself out, Conan will go back to being funny with less restrictions.

That is a great monologue!

And count me as someone who likes the idea of Conan at midnight (well, 12:05am). Then I can go from "The Daily Show" to "The Colbert Report" to "The Tonight Show" without missing anything (although will have to suffer through the last 5 minutes of Leno).

I've never really cared for O'Brien, but this monologue gives me much more respect for him. I think NBC is screwing him like they did with Letterman and I'm glad to see he's not going down without a fight.

Conan fucking rocks. Good for him tearing apart NBC.

Evidently, Coco's lawyers didn't specify a start time for the TS when they were initially negotiating, so he may not be able to leave w/o violating his contract. NBC can start the show whenever they please.

that's always been the rumor. supposedly as long as the show still has the "tonight show" moniker and it's run during a certain time, he can't do much about it.

Certain time because it was pushed 30 minutes for sports/major news...sure. But to toss in another show? LAME.

i think there is up to an hour window they can run it and still be fine w/ the contract. at least that's what i heard.

If Conan was to move to another network, what would happen to Triumph? Does Conan have some kind of control over the character, or is he the property of NBC?

My guess is that Smeigl probably owns the rights to the character, but that is an interesting question.

This morning I saw a clip of Fallon from last night's monolog:

"President Obama again said that under his health care proposal, people will be covered regardless of whether they have a job, move jobs, or lose their jobs. So don't worry -- Jay, Conan and I will be fine."

He actually delivered it well, too!

It's the same situation as when Letterman moved to CBS and NBC claimed some of his regular bits were their "intellectual property". If Conan moves, it might be the end of Triumph.

Because he is a walking punchline. The guy isn't even in the same league as Dave, Conan... or Jay.
