Indubitably.
But I think it's a few episodes too late.
Tonight's first episode was sooooo good. I laughed, I cried, I didn't miss JD.
The second ep was a little weaker than the first, but I enjoyed theJanitor Security Guards for once.

Well, thanks to these episodes we finally know that Cox is still the Chief of Medicine and Turk is still Chief of Surgery.
Both episodes were very well done but something felt weird with these. Actually, it's the writing and development of two characters: Drew and Denise. Its as if the writers were pining for Jordan's acidic personality and transplanted it in Denise. Drew also sounded a lot like Dr. Cox with his ranting and pauses.
Denise was given the "chop chop" from Jordan and Drew even had the "Yeah. You're done" line in Our Couples.

I think Elliot has played a big part in the improvement as well. Sarah Chalke is great and the character can pretty much interact with anyone and make it funny.

This show is working so much better now we are actually allowed to spend some time with the newbies without the ghosts of Scrubs past eating up the spotlight. Elliot's appearance last night (and Perry's as well) showed exactly how it should be done... use them as supporting characters who add something to the new character's storylines. The JD stuff this season was almost all about JD and did little but distract us from those new characters and made it harder for us to connect to them. Plus JD's storyline came to a perfect circle in last season's finale, so his scenes this season just came off as extraneous and obnoxious.

I have been watching the scrubs ratings for each episode drop slowly over this season and I hate to say it that it's probably canned.
I hate this, scrubs is a great show and I needs to live on because its not bad and its still not old. I mean I don't see how people thing south park, family guy, simpsons, cleveland show and american dad all have basically done the same thing off of each other for years and has about only 250 unique episodes between them.

I thought the episodes were OK, but not great. The first one was a little better than the second. Seeing the hot Australian chick is always a plus too.

About that spoiler:
After watching the first episode, I was going to ask what happened to Australian Supermodel doc, but then she showed up in the second episode and my question was answered. I'm guessing the actress had prior commitments which necessitated her being written out of a few episodes.
As much as Zach Braff was an integral part of the show, the episodes without him this season have been better because it allowed the new characters to develop. That being said, I'm still enjoying watching Dr. Cox, Dr. Turk and Dr. Kelso interacting with the new paitents.
Watching the scene with the trick candles reminded me of my 12th or 13th birthday when my dad put trick candles on my cake. Bastard.
