The discussion that never dies. Which one is better, The Shield or The Wire? THey both coexist peacefully in my DVD collection.

Re: My Chronicles watching the SHIELD from scratch, previously unseen SPOILERS
Just finished the amazing episode where Shane gets discovered as organising the hit on Ronnie and Vic resigns. Wow Wow wow ! one of the best episodes of TV period
Man i want to see Mara get killed, raped or both, can't stand her. Ultimately she has been the downfall of Shane.
They really have made an effort to make Ronnie more hardcore this season rather than a bystander.
5 episodes left to go, can't wait ! Really interested to see how Vic operates without a badge. Surely he must have a fake he can still use when required.

I'd argue you said too much already. I'd spoiler tag that if you don't want a potentially pissed off thread starter.

I know Mara is just a TV character and a really annoying, but saying that you wish violence on a woman is a little cruel IMO.

You ain't seen nothin' yet. The last several eps are just ridiculous.
Truly an amazing show. It's not for everyone but damn it's good.
Walton Goggins really deserved some recognition for his work here.

Alright, not reading any other comments on this thread in case of unintentional spoilers
Waited to the weekend so i could watch the last 5 eps in a row. Watched 3 of the 5 so far
Corrine turning on Vic is understandable but pissed me off no end
Really hate seeing Ronnie in the poo now, they have him.
It can't end 100% bad for every member of the strike team, it just can't. Sure they have done some bad things, but they do a job no one else wants to do, they do a job no one else can do.
The self righteous nature of the other cops (Julian, Claudette and Dutch) is pissing me off. Without the strike team, they would have probably been killed in the line of duty by now.
I am praying with all my heart that despite all the bad things he has done, the writers know Vic is a hero to fans and if he goes out badly, they won't be happy. That is the hope i am clinging to
Will check back in a few hours when i will know Vic's fate finally myself

Here are my thoughts on the character endings
Dutch - well he still has his teen serial killer case, can't see him going anyway
Claudette - not unhappy she's dying. Her self righteousness has gone too far
Shane and Mara - it was shocking to see the murder suicide but not a bad ending for them
Jackson - was upset to see him included in the murder
Danny and Julien - not much really happened with them.
Ronnie - Was upset to see him caught without getting a chance to run but i still can't see how he can go down for everything with no physical evidence for most if not all of the cases against him. Only Vic's recording now Shane is dead. I still don't know why Vic confessed to the Terry murder. Fact is even if Shane said it was fact, Kavanaugh has shown there was no actual evidence against Vic and it comes down to Vics word against Shane and with Shane attempting Murder, his word wouldn't mean much. I don't think Ronnie would actually serve much time.
Vic - i thought it was a perfect end, i didn't want to see him dead and i definitely didn't want to see him jailed (mainly because that would be a win for Claudette who i can't stand). This was he has paid the ultimate price, lost his family, power, job and respect.
Acevada - wanted to see him go down a bit more
I did like the finale overall because they didn't go too hardcore with dramatic endings for everyone just for the sake of it (opposite to say Oz).

My thoughts:
They will have evidence against Ronnie, because Vic had to give up everything regarding the numerous drug deals/murders/buried dead bodies. Ronnie has his name over years of the crimes. Dutch just needed someone to connect all of the dots. Personally, I thought Ronnie's ending was fitting because he was always the fourth wheel, super-paranoid, member of the Strike Team. Even Kavanaugh stroked his ego and told him he was the smart one, but alas he was the chump .... Vic was always the smartest one.
In the end, each member of the Strike Team had the ultimate comeuppance.
Vic - Only seemed to be phased by bad things happening to his family and retaining his shield, both of which he ultimately loses.
Shane - Only reason to live was his job/team/family/friends, all of which he betrayed or murdered.
Ronnie - Didn't want to get caught or hurt, face burnt and sent to prison.
Lem - Didn't care about himself, just his "family". Betrayed and murdered by a member of 'said-family'.
Claudette is the ultimate hypocrite in the barn. In the pilot she tells then-Captain Aceveda that she doesn't "judge other cops" and that Vic "looks like a big fish but he should just cut bait". She does the opposite of her own advice when she becomes captain until it becomes a vendetta with the Strike Team.
Dutch continues being the best detective, Danny/Julien/Tina go on with their careers without the headaches caused by the Strike Team.
Aceveda was always going to continue his political climb, and he is always going to have a love/hate relationship with Vic.

Re: My Chronicles watching the SHIELD from scratch, previously unseen SPOILERS
I gotta say, my favourite moments throughout the whole show, any season are when everyone (strike team, Dutch, Claudette, Danni and Julien) are all working together against a common enemy. I wish there were more of these moments.
I would also have to say my fav series overall was the Glen Close one because Vic wasn't been hunted down internally by everyone as much and was doing more proper police work which was great to see. Plus Glen Close was great.

Re: My Chronicles watching the SHIELD from scratch, previously unseen SPOILERS
ICE has evidence against Ronnie. ICE isn't going to prosecute him or likely share that stuff with anybody they don't have to because it would be a major embarrassment to them to have a guy like Vic revealed to be what he is and for them to have given him immunity.
My guess is that Ronnie's story goes from the ending to him doing state time for some offense, with a reminder from somebody at ICE that if he does not plead guilty, accept his 5 or 10 years as lenient punishment for the crap he has pulled, and move on with his life, they'll do what they have to do in order to bury him.
