Pretty decent eps. They went from the Mystery show to an Action and Adventure show.
But I was already on board so it was cake for me.

Wow! I just got around to watching this 2-hour start and it was surprisingly great. They covered so many of the plots in this show, revealed a bunch of answers, kept the action moving and didn't have a ton of "leaps" like they did in the first half of the season. I'll definitely stay on board if it stays like this.
I thought this show had one of the best TV pilots of the season, then completely lost its momentum. But this retool was as good as the pilot.
Hopefully since it's an ABC show not only will costs be down, but they will see revenue from DVD sales, etc, and at least air the remainder of the season. I have hope they will since they did eventually air the remainder of Dirty, Sexy Money and Pushing Daisies when they dropped in ratings...even if it took a while.

Finally watched the 2-hour episode. Surprised by all the raves here. The first hour wasn't bad, but I thought the second hour just dragged. The whole thing with Simon in Toronto with Janis just went on forever it seemed. Maybe I'll enjoy it more next week when it is back down to one hour.

I was bored with most of it as well and I definitely liked the show at the beginning. I wouldn't care if it was canceled or if they brought it back. I'll probably watch it again.

That was annoying to watch Simon escape and get caught again like 3 different times.
Other than that, I enjoyed it, too. I was on the fence about continuing to watch, since I'll have to do it online once Vampire Diaries is back next week and I'm already recording Community. But, they managed to hook me back in for a while longer.

It took me a while to get into it. The long layoff coupled with not remember a lot of the last quarter or so of episodes left be confused and a bit bored. It did pick up though.
I think this show was dead when they decided to are the episode with the Japanese girl. It was the equivalent of the Jack tattoo episode but hadn't built up the good faith that Lost had by that point.

The Producers of the show also had to cut 3 episodes from the episode order because of the long layoff. They were originally going to produce 25 episodes, but there was no way they could air 15 episodes from March to May sweeps, so 3 were dropped.

I actually liked the Japanese girl story and that episode was a nice break from the monotonous talk about Mark and the board without it ever going anywhere.
Agreed that this was pretty good; I liked the Simon stuff and thought it would have been cool to keep Rickey Jay along for a bit more. Did think that the scene with his professor was a total rip on the scene in Ronin where DeNiro and Michael Lonsdale talk about the 47 Ronin.

So if the FBI takes an agent off of active duty because he's a loose cannon. Then, they tell him to see a counselor who has him undertake a drug induced vision. That vision suddenly gives him more details of his flash forward, so they tell him to quietly continue his investigation on his own? That makes sense.

I really liked the Japanese girl episode also because it explored what I think is the central idea of this show: knowing your destiny and how it effects your present. That guy was basically trying to "speed up" his destiny by going to Japan to find her and we found out that he would find her later, in LA. I think that aspect of the show is really interesting.
Did anyone laugh at the horrible special effects during the scene at the baseball stadium in Detroit. Never mind the fact that it beared absolutely no resemblance to Comerica Park, but the people reminded me of those horrible Asian-news Tiger Woods re-enactment videos.

That bugged me through the entire sequence. I was sitting there thinking: where in the hell did they shoot this because that stadium is not Comerica. It's the little things that take you out of a scene but I'll continue to watch anyway.

I thought it was just a fictional baseball stadium, also it semed to resemble Yankee stadium a little.

In the baseball stadium scene, were birds unaffected by the blackout? The crows were supposedly affected in earlier episodes, but in the blackout scene at the stadium, you can see a flock of birds flying by.

I think it was a targeted "attack" the target being people. If I remember right, that incident in Africa only had Crows going down and nothing else.
