Re: Ken Ober dead at 52
I used to love Remote Control, even though in hindsight it kind of heralded MTV's move away from music videos. It launched not only the careers of Adam Sandler, Denis Leary and Colin Quinn (as the CNN article points out), but also Kari Wuhrer.
Wonder what the cause of death was. In any event, way too young to go.

TV mattered, nothing else did (Remote Control)
Girls said yes, but he said no (Remote Control)
Now he's got his own game show (Remote Control!)"

Always loved Remote Control. Watching Kari Wurher writhing to Colin's Tone Lōc-esque raps may have been my first sexual experience. And anyone watching Colin's cousin and Trivia Delinquent Stickpin Quinn / aka The Stud Boy could see he was going to go places.

I saw the guys shirt said "Hofstra" and 1989 was when I was there. Don't remember that guy or his sailboat.

I had to watch the clip like five times to make sure I was hearing "sailboat" correctly. "You've won a trip to cancun, a microwave, a sailboat and a TurboGrafx-16." So random.
