Oh my gawd....This show brought me to tears. Wow.
Glee is AWESOME!
Sue's Situation, Kurt and his Dad, Puck trying to do the right thing...

That's why I don't think they're ever going to expand on that at all in the future. I think it's a little secret that we the audience will be able to keep in the back of our minds while enjoying Sue's nastiness.

I never heard of that Defying Gravity song before, but damn, they killed it. Rewatched it like three times. Was more "eh" on the Proud Mary bit.

It's from the musical "Wicked" - it's exactly the kind of song from musical theater that someone like Rachel (and Kurt) would love, which made it a perfect choice for this.

The song kind of threw me a curve. I was expecting the duet on the soundtrack, and instead they had the competition.

Great episode. I've said this before, but I *love* these episodes that concentrate on the Glee club itself and the students, instead of spending excessive time on Will's wife or coach/counselor love stories or Will in silly feuds.
Speaking of feuds, I also like that they are slowly starting to make Sue into a real character and not just a cartoon villain. I think this episode had the perfect blend of comedy and drama for me.

And I know I've said this before (
), but this is the balance they've created with the stories. IMO, they really haven't spent an excessive amount of time on any particular story or subject, and just when you think they're going to do so, they completely "ignore" it and focus on something else...and all the time the glee club is still the central figure, no matter what else is going on. There's been two or three episodes so far that have completely left out Terri, Emma, Ken, and even one episode eliminated Sue altogether!
These are the lives of these people. As in our own lives, some things, sometimes, are more important than other things. Shu is concentrating on sectionals, so the glee club and the things going on within require his attention more than what's going on with his wife. Whether that's a good or bad thing is going to be up to the viewer, I suppose. The side stories will surface when they need to, and not a moment sooner. They've done a great job at showing us exactly what we need to see, when we need to see it.
I also love that we learn little bits of each character over time. I'm kind of torn as to whether we learned too much about too many in tonight's episode or not, but I trust in the writers' abilities to keep us interested, intrigued, and habitual in our return to Fox on Wednesday nights at 9:00 sharp.

Love that song; not thrilled about the Sue "twist."

I didn't like this week's episode as much as people here. The jump rope number was good and the cover of the Wicked song was good. Nice story with Sue. But the rest was just dull. And I knew the guy put pot in the cupcakes.

This episode was OK, mostly let down by the weak musical numbers.
Artie's solo was the only really good number, both the song and the cinematography were great. That slo-mo cafeteria shot was awesome.
Defying Gravity was bland. The actor playing Kurt did a good job expressing emotion, although vocally Rachael was killing him even without the blown note. Inter-cutting the performances may have been the problem, particularly since Rachael didn't have an emotional setup for the performance like Kurt did. So in the end, for me, she undercut his emotional performance and he undercut her vocal performance. And I didn't get anything out of the wheelchair finale, from the music or choreography. I guess I can give them props for the effort.
I think maybe they should have either moved up the diva off or added another number because after Artie's solo near the beginning it seemed like forever before we got more music.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. Only the audience will know about it unless Will keeps trying to find out why Sue picked that a girl to be a Cheerio then maybe he'll stumble onto the secret.

Nice episode, I thought Artie's solo was really good.
I am still not convinced that Artie, the character, is really handicapped. That is, he might be faking it, which is why I was sure he would stand up at the end when the Asian girl admitted that she had faked having a stutter. But he didn't so maybe the character really is handicapped.

Some people are upset about Kevin McHale playing Artie.

And this type of protest is very common, as an example I remember all the protests when they hired a president who had hearing for a deaf university (Galludet?).

And was it just me, or did they make some crack about the blond Cheereo cheating off the girl's math tests?

Once again - I didn't care for any of the musical numbers, particularly Kurt's singing.
I liked Sue's storyline.
Didn't miss Terri a bit.
Puck continues to crack me up.

Loved the episode, one of the best shows on TV right now.
What's Tina's secret? I got distracted in that part.
And Quinn looked so hot, or maybe I just missed her, but even without her cheerleader outfit she looked really great.
