The Vampire Diaries -- "Lost Girls" -- 10/15/09

Vampire Diaries

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Stefan reveals his family's history to Elena and how his rivalry with Damon began. Meanwhile, Damon tries to take control of Vicki's life, but she runs away, and the sheriff and mayor take action to protect Mystic Falls from further violence.

Loved last week's episode. Tonight's sounds really good too with some reveals. The show is definitely picking up some steam. Sorry for those of you who bailed.

I'll get to watch it in HD tonight, but had to push Bones off my DVR. Sorry Bones.

Good episode tonight. I was wondering if Damian would ever turn someone.

Another excellent episode.

I thought the writers did a good job with keeping Vicki's transformation interesting. It could have been campy or glossed over, but it was fun to watch and showed some emotion. I actually felt sad for her.

I wonder if Logan is dead? I wouldn't mind seeing him stick around, but people have been dropping left and right. This show has a pretty high body count so far.

This show is getting better each week.

The writers know how to tell a story: we had some history, some surprises, and some revelations (and some hot bodies)....

I look forward to watching each show...

I really am surprised by the direction of this show. Much darker than I expected, but I also would have sworn that the reveal of being a vampire to Elena would have been something that would have happened much, much later in the series... I was really mentally preparing myself for a boring season of Smallvillesque storylines where she doesn't know his power, and he does whacky superheroish stuff all while attending high school. I'm pleased it's not that.

Well they prob-ly thought that it wouldn't be a hit and decided to wrap-up everything in 12-13 episodes, now they'll have to expand it since it's a full season run now.

That theory is doubtful. Producers and Writers have to pitch story arcs and even how the show would work in multiple seasons to the network before they even get green lighted. I think everything we have seen has been planned from the get go.

My favorite scene of the year, so far. It even made up for the awful "Enjoy The Silence" cover.

This show has been nothing but a pleasant surprise for me. When I watched the pilot, I was debating whether or not to continue watching future episodes. However, I gave the pilot a second chance and stuck with it.

Unexpected, but this show turned into my favorite of the new season thus far and another solid episode this week.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I thought it was going to be a sappy Degrassi High with Fangs.

But it has turned out to be an interesting show.

Gotta love Nina as a Southern Belle....

I was very surprised myself.

But now we have an interesting dynamic in the show and in their relationship.

She loves him but is repelled by him; she wants to tell but she must keep it a secret...

The show was picked up almost right away - before Melrose/TBL. They knew it would succeed because of Twilight/True Blood.

Re: The Vampire Diaries -- "Lost Girls" -- 10/15/09

Fantastic episode.

Loved the flashback scenes to the 1800's and the backstory that involved Damon, Stefan and Katherine.

The show has indeed really taken a dark tone and I've really enjoyed it.

I think Nina Dobrev has really grown with each episode. She IMO is a much more charming and charismatic female lead than Kristen Stewart in Twilight and much hotter too.

I enjoyed the episode, but I thought it was funny that no one even attempted an accent in the 1800s. I guess they know their limitations.

So ... what did happen to Katherine now that we know she was the one who turned Steffon.

Re: The Vampire Diaries -- "Lost Girls" -- 10/15/09

Wasn't it stated that she was in the church that burnt down?

I agree that this show is getting better and better each week. I think I would have preferred that Vicki stayed dead (which was damn brutal and out of left field! - love it), but I suppose it will make for an interesting dynamic. Meanwhile Elana's brother gets screwed over again.

I wonder if the witch will be able to put a barrier up on the house?

As for those that said Elana found out sooner than later Buffy found out some secrets rather quickly.

Kind of a 'duh' thing now but VD has been picked up for a full season:

Anyone actually shocked by this?

Not when it's sniffing close to 4 million viewers, and doing better than Smallville did in the same timeslot last year.
