None of which matters. Why is a mailing campaign the only "correct" answer in this instance?

It's not. I believe the most significant action the Jericho people took involved delivering a massive amount of nuts to the network. I think the key is intervention by a fanbase directly to the network in the form of a campaign. That's not what brought back Family Guy.

Then by your description, Chuck would be a correct answer because of the whole Subway thing, even though the show was never technically cancelled (which, by your own admission, is not a criteria for correctness on this question).

The fact remains that Family Guy was brought back due to strong DVD sales. That was an action performed by fans (and action that was more active than simply watching the show). That they weren't trying to get the show back on the air is moot, as intent is not part of the question.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I may have preferred the "there are no wrong answers in Sheep" approach. It sometimes acted as a safeguard against poorly-worded questions, which this one apparently was. It also resulted in less debating. :D

You can all blame Red Dog for the new wrong-answer bonus/penalty for Sheep questions. Blame him! Do it! It'll feel great!

That's fine. I'm already hated for Love Connection. I don't know what these people are bitching about anyhow. They still got their points, and some of us got a few more because of their wrongness. Big deal. It won't matter in the long run due to the super-duper crapshoot jackpot question at the end that we'll get to about the time transparent aluminum is invented by someone handed the formula.

Oh, hey Red Dog. :D

My big qualm is with the idea that Family Guy is somehow wrong, and I feel the need to make up for it now since I was too busy actually working to argue over it when the debate was going down. Clearly I need to get my priorities straight.

(I actually do like the new wrong answer Sheep "penalty," but I also really disagree with the idea that Family Guy is a wrong answer.)

I've been working all weekend and haven't had time to catch up with this thread until now. It was a fun read and I'll probably try to join another sheep game soon.

Going all the way back to question 1, I think that fans using their wallets to convince a studio that a show has enough value to bring back is fan action.

I always get a laugh out of the fact that one of her 'arguments' for going with them to the future was that nobody knew how to care for the whales except her. Then a few days in the future has her taking off on a ship of her own. F the whales, they can fend for themselves.

Besides, they only have 2 whales (soon to be 3). Its not like the species is going to survive. The baby whales will not be able to breed unless they inbreed. Maybe Starfleet will start a cloning program and put enough DNA diversity to get the species going again.

Yeah but they told the probe what to go do with itself. Let the humans 100 centuries later figure out how to deal with it when it returns. It's their problem, not Kirk's. ;)

Hopefully Starfleet hit the record button when the probe asked its questions and the whales answered. Our luck would be saving it in a format that would be unplayable in the future.

Cartman: Come on! Come on! Dude, what is taking so long! I wanna play!

Maintenance Guy: Uhh, what kind of output does this have? This is some ancient Super-VHS output or somethin'. I can't connect it to your float screen.

Cartman: There's gotta be some way to hook it up! It's the freakin' future!

Maintenance Guy: It may be the future for you, but I can't hook up anything to a float screen without at least a laser-7 output.

Cartman: You've gotta be shittin' me!! Science-damnit! I am so fucking sick of the future! [starts throwing a tantrum, throwing things around]
