 I have absolutely no idea if I was just insulted or complimented.

Actually it is a bad analogy and makes little sense. In the 1968 Masters, his playing partner Tommy Aaron put the wrong score for De Vicenzo's 17th hole, and he didn't notice the error before signing it. He then missed out on a playoff with eventual winner Bob Goalby by one stroke.

Basically he got screwed out of winning, like you ;)

I could see splitting that hair if there were other sources that said she quit but, IIRC, the "She quit" side put up zero evidence to support the claim.

No, evidence was not presented. For the 195th time (and nor this did not sway anyone, hence it continues not being evidence), buying the DVDs did not merit enough of a "fan action" especially since the original question was talking about writing letters, which is much more pro-active than hitting a few mouse buttons on a browser and adding a DVD to your cart.

Afterwards, while we looked through the Wiki evidence, we saw that there was actual action made to save the show: letter-writing, petitions, etc. You were so blinded by your thought that merely buying a DVD or having a station tuned to a channel merited fanatical action that you failed to capitalize on an opportunity.

Evidence was there, but it was never presented.

I am quite honestly baffled by how anyone could not interpret fans buying massive amounts of DVDs as not being action. It feels like I'm arguing with people about whether or not Tom Brady is on the Patriots.

It's not just clicking a few mouse buttons, it's shelling out hard earned cash which seems much more pro-active than firing off a form letter. I know you and Red Dog and others are being quite sincere, but if I didn't know better I'd swear I was being Punk'd.

Massive amounts of DVDs? Did people shingle their roof with copies of the DVD? Did they build Stewie statues out of the discs?

Re: Star Trek Sheep: The Next Generation

They sold 2.2 million DVDs in one year. If you don't think that's a massive amount then I guess I'm not sure what else to say.

I'm trying to figure out if the fans bought massive numbers. Are there people out there who bought 30 sets, for instance?

Are you just being difficult for difficulties sake now? No, individual fans were not frequently buying multiple sets. I do believe the average number of sets purchased per fan was much closer to 1.0 than most other shows. That's just a guess, but given the extraordinarily high DVD sales it seems like a reasonable one.

Looking at the 2008 sales chart the top selling TV DVD is The Office - Season 4 at 1.05 million units (while Family Guy - Blue Harvest sold 1.14 million units that same year). Family Guy was the top-selling TV DVD for 2003 which is pretty impressive for a show that was canceled, and Fox agreed. A Fox exec said "When we saw the way the fan base reacted, it obviously got us thinking there was a very pure audience that would follow it anywhere."

Should we revisit question 1? Yes or no?

I own Family Guy DVDs. I'm not a fan of the show. I would not do anything if it was cancelled.

Now, Venture Bros. on the other hand...

My question would be for Tracer Bullet--

When you asked the question, what, in all honesty, did you think the possible correct answers would be?

I didn't think of Family Guy, which I assume is your point. Actually, I thought of Jericho, and that was about it.

I'm surprised that you asked questions that you didn't already know the correct answers (to).
Perhaps you should take that into consideration if you do another game.
