I hated Robert last year too.

He sucks but thinks he's something special.

I know a lot of this is "staged" for dramtic effect, but I just can't stand how competitive these morons are. I understand that they want to win, but the way they behave with each other especially during the challenges, which don't mean anything other than one team gets a prize while the other gets punished, just irritates the Hell out of me. Grow up and act like adults.

It's like the guys that get so crazy competitve during pickup basketball games or co-ed softball games. Just chiiiiiiiiiiil.

Considering Robert got almost a full season under his belt, he should be way ahead of the game in Hell's Kitchen and not fuck up.

That only appears to be a full season under his belt. It's actually just his belly.

Robert doesn't know me nearly as much as Tenille or Lovely did. Thank God one of them is gone. Whoopi Goldberg looks to impress Ramsay next week so looks like we'll be stuck with her until at least then.

Van's voice is annoying since he's so in-your-face. I wanna punch him in the face.

And does anyone think that one redhead that can't multiply is kinda cute? She seems adorable. :D

I'm sorry, there's just no way he's a "real" person. You don't go into the sixth season of a show, and not only not know how things work but openly defy them and then challenge the host to a duel for god's sake.

If it was a real confrontation, the SECOND he ripped off his jacket and started coming at Ramsay, crew members would have swarmed him, the camerawork would have gotten wonky, etc.

And I don't really buy that there was a guy so bad there that they knew he'd get bounced immediately and lucky for them that Robert just happened to be in the dining room.

I mean, I love this show, but goddamn these first two "big" events are totally scripted.

sorry to say, but I know Joey, actually, my brother is great friends with him and after he came back from Iraq, he is that crazy (note to people, do not join the armed forces or you will come back all messed up (he killed people everyday and talks about it like it was nothing).
He is a quiet guy but he is crazy. so it is definitely not fake...at least Joey is not fake. such a shame

Here's what I don't get -- after so many seasons with essentially the same damn menu wouldn't you at least practice cooking some of those dishes before you went on the show? They stare at the scallops like they've never heard of the things.

Yep. You'd figure. That's brought up every season in this thread. I think it's hilarious.

What got me was how something as simple as garlic bread and spaghetti and meatballs - which I think anybody could have a handle one - was such a production last week for the firefighters.

No difference than people going on Survivor and never bother to learn how to make fire, shelter, fish, etc.

Freudian slip of the year was when Tennille said "I don't like sausage"... really?? Would have never guessed.

Eighth season ordered by FOX

I assume that season 7 will air in early 2010 and season 8 will air next summer.

Not surprising. But what I am intrigued by is the announcement about a US version of Cookalong: Live. This is a well done show in the UK, but some of the funnier parts could not air here (remote links to nudists cooking along, spontaneous profanity from Ramsay and the in-studio celebrity assistant, etc.). As long as they don't add the Kitchen Nightmares/Hell's Kitchen narrator to talk over the top of everything I won't miss it.

No kidding. Risotto and Beef Wellington, people. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you'll be cooking a lot of both of those.

Tennille needs to go... now! Her manner of speaking is so effin' annoying. Drop the ghetto speak, please.

"She needta get out ma face 'less she want a smack upside tha head. Don't be tellin' me how ta be cookin' all up in my face" She's a fucking muppet brought to life.

Shoot me, please.

12 Chefs Compete:

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

The 12 remaining chefs must plan menus for a gastronomic salute to a returning U.S. marine, with the losing team having to clean and decorate the dining room for the party under the direction of Gordon Ramsay's wife, Tana. Later, cold food during dinner service heats up Chef Ramsay's temper.

Ariel is the only person that I like on the show right now. I used to like Kevin and David, but during those personal vignettes they are always so full of themselves that it's sickening. I agree with Tenille and she shouldn't have been in the bottom two this week, but it looks like next week will be a completely different story. As a group, I am done with the red team. Suzanne is crazy annoying and the cause of many of the team's problems, but she think she's on top of the world!

Kevin and David are probably the best cooks in the kitchen next to Arielle. We really don't hear from her though. She's like the girl that came in second last season.

So Robert ends up being hospitalized. Again. And Whoopi Goldberg melts down next week. Looks like it will be interesting, but man Robert's gotta lose some weight. Jesus. He didn't seem to even be there during the first part of service when the guys were dishing out the entrees. He's kind of hard to miss - but I didn't see him until the very end when they guys came in to help the girls.

Do many restaurants cook their steaks as suggested in Hell's Kitchen? Grill is only for marking and you cook it in the oven? Uh, I think I like my steak to be grilled from beginning to end like what Tex was doing except not burn it. If that really is true, no wonder many non steakhouse restaurant has shitty steaks. You can taste it that it was not grilled.

I personally never heard of that either, but then again I personally never cook steak. I just eat a lot of it at restaurants.
