Re: Pawn Stars on History Channel

I'm not really talking about the craftsmanship or lack thereof, I'm talking about the presentation of the show and I think thats where Fast Cars succeeds. It's also funny to see these guys not sugarcoat there sales. I would think half of the shows I watch they've lost their asses on the flip.

Danny from Counting Cars I do like. His crew on the other hand, IMHO, is not very likeable. Maybe Fast Cars has the style and Counting Cars has the substance. WHo knows. All I know is I enjoy the "idiot"s from Texas much more.

The problem with the idiots from Texas is they make some sloppy mistakes and often lose money.

Danny's place just looks like a fun place to work. Remember how they all turned into giddy teenagers when Elvira showed up?

but people make mistakes in real life. not every purchase is a home run. i like both but danny seems more scripted.

Is the store doing OK lately? I've noticed that in the past few episodes, there are very few customers visiting the shop and browsing/buying stuff. And for Chum to be so excited and quitting over winning $10k in the lottery leads us to believe that that is a big sum for him compared to what he makes on the show. Is the Pawn Stars shop too big for the History Channel to fail? Would they pump money into the shop to keep it alive so they can film more episodes?

Chumlee's net worth is well into the six figures. He's just putting on a show.

Oh come one man...

There are still lines outside the store of people waiting to get in. When they film, they empty the store out and only keep a few for background.

As for Chum, really...

You do realize that this is about as "real" as professional wrestling, right?

Re: Pawn Stars on History Channel

I HATE the new format. The made up family "drama" was always the worst part of the show and now the show is 60% or more that crap. Really bad decision really to make the show more popular.

At this point, I'm just fast forwarding through all the filler segments.

I do too, but I think there is only like 2.5 actual pawn segments in the entire show now.

I haven't timed it but it doesn't seem like the actual pawn segments have gone down that much.

I loved seeing the "experts" in a casual setting like the bar in this past episode.

Rebecca looked great, as usual.

Hope you caught tonight's episode. She was on for a first edition of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."

Does anyone know if that was Betsy Bitch selling the Metallica gear?

Re: Pawn Stars on History Channel

In the same episode, the guy with the wine opener definitely got caught in his lie about getting offered more for it from the family (inscribed on it). Though someone coming into a pawn shop and lying is nothing new...haha

He asks for $10K, but says he's getting a better offer from the family???

Re: Pawn Stars on History Channel

I had thought the girl with the nice rack selling the fake Beatles stuff looked familiar, so I Googled her first name and "Pawn Stars". She's not anyone famous or anything, but her naked pics are on some site called MyEx.com

Did anyone see the episode of Counting Cars that Chum was on? He acted a lot different than he does on Pawn Stars. It was like he was a totally different person. I felt like I was watching the Twilight Zone.

Danny was the minister for the ceremony. Whoda thunk that one?
