It's setting up nicely for the finale.
I Actually thought his hosting might have got him through, as the whole draped wall with Carina on it was horrible.
and the one note repeating patterns. Home Plates this week, chevrons last..
Again Antonio killed it this week, taking the photo of the kid and using that to hold the TV was brilliant.

Why didn't the judges comment on the older lady not finishing her room? There was no baseboard, they didn't paint the trim or cut in. It looked horrible but they didn't even comment on it.

Dan got lucky with the money issue.
Of course Clive will come in with the $$, but that was a 30K backyard! Holy shit.
they are building this to a Dan/Antonio finale I think, they are the strongest.
and as to last nights team leader? Might have been editing, but it surely looked like Anotonio dominated the challenge.

The best line of the night was when Antonio said that Dan was in charge of taking off his shirt.
That alone makes me root for Antonio to take the prize.

I'm really hoping Antonio wins. He's really different than the other hosts on HGTV. Dan seems too much like all the others.

Antonio I think made that point himself and I think they realise that.
Lonnie was gone last night unless she really blew it out of the water.
Personally I liked Lonnie's room the best.
Dan's seemed cluttered.
and Antonio's was functional. It's hard to give an office a wow factor.
The laser cut Map was a genius idea tho.

If Lonni had won, what were her show be called... The One Perfect Wall?
That's all that she seems capable of.
I called Dan and Antonio from the start.
But i seems to be that HGTV is looking for a likable "bad boy"... in the vein of Food Network's Guy Fieri or Duff Goldman. I personally don't think that Antonio fits that mold. He's a little too raw.
But Dan is too soft. He's Todd without the surfboard... and the enthusiasm.
The funny thing is that I've watched Seasons 1 and 2 of DS, but I have never seen more than a handful of David's or Kim's show (let alone Jennifer's).
I like the competition part, but never the end result.

I think Dan shoulda been canned when he way overspent on that pergola. That was stupid to spend just about half of the allowance on that stupid pergola.
And did anyone else notice that they didnt put up the fence around the pool? The family has a toddler for petesake! That was really irresponsible of everyone.

I think Lonnie's was the best, most complete room. It was just clear that Dan and Antonio were going to the finals, unless one of them completely bombed. Dan's constant giggling and plastic-y face are seriously annoying now that he's getting a lot of air time.

You do know that HGTV sends in qualified contractors to clean up the mess that the designers leave in their wake? I would wager that they installed a fence at that time.

Re: HGTV Design Star Discussion Thread
The home owner with the pool posted on HGTV's message board that they had a fence around the pool before the redo and it was put back after filming. They apparently felt it would be too distracting from what the designers did when shown on TV.
