Iron Chef Japan Where is it???

I really enjoyed the Iron Chef japan series and can't seem to find it anymore. Does anyone know if it's still airing anywhere, or is it even on DVD?

I think Fine Living Network (FLN) shows it now.

I find this show to be a guilty pleasure.

Where else can you watch a fierce competition titled "Battle: Broccoli", hosted by the Asian gentleman who inherited Liberace's wardrobe?

[Well, other than some fetish websites, I guess ...]

Unfortunately, it would seem that FLN only has the rights to a handful of battles. They show the same 20 or so battles over and over again. I would love to see more of Michiba.

You mean just reruns, right? Didn't the show end in Japan in '99 or so?

Indeed. There are hundreds of battles, but they keep showing the same 20 or so ad nauseam.

Although there are no legal/commercial copies of the original Iron Chef battles, there are a number of them (the ones brodcast on Food Network) are available via torrent. The 'specials' that were never aired in the US are not available as far as I know.

It's airing on the Cooking Channel at 11pm and 3am. Also somedays it's on at 7pm as well. Last night they aired Nakamura's first episode which was a nice treat since I never any of his episodes before.

Thought this was pretty cool. Came across the first episode of Iron Chef.

Disappointed that this isn't on late night Cooking Channel or Food Network anymore.

Re: Iron Chef Japan Where is it???

Damn straight, I loved seeing that guy do his thing, especially the unveiling of the secret ingredient and the chefs reactions to it. I also loved how a lot of the chefs who battled had grudges against the Iron Chefs. Iron Chef USA didn't hold a candle to the original. I wish someone would release the full episodes of this series. I think they were something like 90 minutes to 2 hours. I know what we saw was edited for the good stuff, but I loved watching them cook.
