Twenty-four hours before Selina's first major speech as president, her staff frantically tries to work out how she can say two completely opposite things at the same time. Gary questions his worth now that he can no longer be close to Selina; Jonah is put off by the approach of Teddy, the new VP's chief of staff; Amy learns that Bill Ericsson (Diederich Bader), a rival campaign manager, may make a play for her job.

Teleplay by Simon Blackwell & Georgia Pritchett; story by Armando Iannucci & Simon Blackwell & Georgia Pritchett; directed by Chris Addison.

10 episode 4th season

Armando Iannucci, who is Veep's creator and showrunner, has left the show. He did complete his work on season 4. He will be replaced by David Mandel for season 5.

He cited family reasons since his family lives in England and the show is shot here in the States.

That was awesome. Loved that teleprompter disaster. And then with her announcing an old spending plan. Funniest episode of this show in a long time.

at Selina leading a moment of silence for a non-dead President.

It's hilarious at how clueless Selina is and now she's the POTUS. BTW, how is this show called "Veep" now?

How is "The Last Man on Earth" still called that after only a few episodes? It's the journey of the first female Veep, who now fell ass backwards into being the first female President. Just go with it.

Anyway, this show is great. Politics pisses me off so much though. If I were president I still would have shit-canned the submarine and let the Repubs take the blame on voting against the family bill. At least you're still $50B ahead.

Off to a great start.

Comedy is the toughest thing to write, yet this show's writing is funny and intelligent. Love that they don't need to rely on cheap antics to get laughs. Sadly, because of this it doesn't attract a bigger audience.

Love this show - love how smart it is, love all the swearing

JLD is fantastic, and Tony Hale too. Great overall cast.

"He looks like Yosemite Sam"

"Without the credibility"

The Kent/Catherine scene about the poll numbers was great.

Loved the fight between Gary and Selina. Good to see Gary finally showing some back-bone.
I wonder if they'll ever tell us about the Labour Day incident.

Re: Veep (S4E03) -- "Data" -- 4/26/15

The Marine talking about his time in Afghanistan while in the Easter bunny costume was pretty good.

I was worried for a minute there they were really going to get rid of Ben.

Re: Veep (S4E03) -- "Data" -- 4/26/15

Some really good stuff this episode.

The little things like this gives me laughs:

Dan (just as a guy in a rabbit suit passes by): "It's Ben"
Mike (looking at the rabbit suit guy): "No way!"
Dan (looking back at the rabbit suit guy): "No... who's getting fired"

Kent (about the fine work of a staffer): "... I see splashes of myself in her. (pause) I now regret that phrase".

Meanwhile, Kent's (Gary Cole) polling and Jonah's (Timothy Simons) big mouth may cause trouble for Selina.

Amy's meltdown was epic. And kudos to Anna Chlumsky. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do a better job acting enraged.

^ Yes, she was quite convincing with her shaking and holding back from crying.
I thought it was a great way to lose it. Loved how Selina finally took Amy's thoughts seriously after she went ape-shit - because she realized Amy wouldn't be doing that if she weren't confident in her opinions.

Great having Hugh Laurie on board, but the scenes with him were kinda' unintentionally awkward and unfunny.

Veep (S4E06) -- "Storms and Pancakes" -- 5/17/15

On the campaign trail, Selina is annoyed by press reaction to her running mate's effortless charm and decides to attend a pancake-brunch fundraiser without any of her team on hand to help. When news arrives that a major hurricane is about to hit North Carolina, it looks like it could be good news for her image. In D.C., Amy tries to adjust to her new post-White House life, and Jonah gets bizarrely ambushed at what he thinks is a job interview.

Teleplay by Georgia Pritchett & Will Smith; directed by Chris Addison.

Just watched this one, I loved Kent's knowing smile at Selina after Amy had her meltdown

He's a fantastic character. I'm still astonished at how much I like this given my initial misgivings because I loved the original so much..

Hugh Laurie has been a great addition. Hard to not picture him as Doctor House though.

I loved the last scene when he schmoozing with the factory guys and Selina got jealous.

at Jonah's "job interview"
