probably realized they could make a mint by not only showing it on the channel, but selling the dvds.

Super-cool. I missed Futurama the first time around, and loved it on dvd.
This actually makes my nipples kinda hard.

I think the movies failed a bit by trying to do too large a story. Futurama excels with the 22 minute episode. I suspect these episodes will be better than the movies.

"Bad news, everyone!"
According to reports, Fox is foolishly looking at recasting voice actors to cut costs.
Needless to say, if they pull this, I'm out...
(EDIT: Upon further review, though, this smells like it could be a hoax)

I thought it was a Comedy Central show now? Fox is still involved?

Probably. They've tried this with The Simpsons cast as well. It backfired.
It's supposed to air on Comedy Central, but 20th Century Fox still owns and produces it.

20th Century Fox still owns and produces the series. I believe I read that they have the option to air it elsewhere (including on Fox), if they wish, and then Comedy Central gets it. In any case, the recasting story's getting picked up by other media outlets. If this happens, this show is DOA. I will never watch the new episodes if the actors are replaced, and will discourage everyone I know from watching as well. Fuck them.

That would be moronic, and I wouldn't watch. But at the same time, it would be an interesting turnaround for Billy West, who took over voicing Stimpy from John K.
But that small bit of irony (Bender: That's not ironic) couldn't overpower my grief for losing the voice cast.
I wouldn't think Matt Groening would allow it.
