I'm pretty sure that is a standard disclaimer for all reality shows, including Top Chef and Top Chef Masters. Are you sure it didn't slip by? I'm not saying it did, it just seems standard to all shows.

Good episode. It's refreshing to see Chefs who respect/like each other and not have a bunch of drama in the kitchen.

That disclaimer has been appearing after every episode of Top Chef from the beginning. I believe Tom C has even discussed it on his Blog.

i'm just pissed Oprah's chef is still in it because of his CONSTANT name-dropping. I cooked for this person, and this person, and oh! The president liked this dish!

Shut up, already - we don't care.

I have a feeling he may be the next to go.

Re: Top Chef Masters

That was a cool episode, damn Michael Chiarello came off as a total ass when picking chefs. I liked when Dale got up in his face, but poor Fabio having to work on that team. I think Anita should have edged out Chiarello, I have no idea why the judges gave him 4 stars after they trashed his meal. I see next week Top Chef: Las Vegas starts.

It didn't surprise me to see Bayless and keller in the top, their assistant chefs were better. Not saying that some of the other chefs were not also talented, but after seeing the draw, and seeing how they were willing to take help from their assistants, I knew they would win.

As for Michael vs Anita, it probably was the way it was edited. I am sure the judges say lots positive and negative about the dishes, and they probably edited it to make Michael's seem less appreciated than it was, to create drama for the end. My guess is that if we saw more of the footage, it would have been obvious that Anita was going. As it was, it still seemed obvious to me.

Re: Top Chef Masters

Just caught up on the last 3 episodes.

I think the best 3 chefs are in the finale.. Anita didn't add enough for me, now Chiarello, he knows he is a rockstar.

Hubert is my fave, but Bayliss has really impressed me

Re: Top Chef Masters

Great episode. Glad to see Chef Hubert pull it out, although I am really liking Rick as well.

Michael did come across as kind of a dick during this challenge and frankly I was shocked at the rather high marks he got considering how they were bashing his fish.

He did seem to be a dick but let’s face it, these are some of the best chefs in the world and they have a right to their egos. Dale was completely out of line and should have been kicked off the show right then. Threatening to fight over being called "young man"? I didn't hear last night but I can only hope that Dale has his own restaurant because I think he just hurt his employment chances.

One of the things that was made clear in that episode is that while Chiarello might be one of the best chefs in the world when it comes to the very specific cuisine he serves at his restaurant, he's completely inflexible and lost when he gets out of his comfort zone. And his alpha male, control freak persona doesn't allow him to rely on anyone else to cover his own inadequacies. You could say the same thing about Bayless with respect to having a very narrow repertoire, but at least he was able to respect his sous chef enough to add flexibility to the offerings.

Re: Top Chef Masters

Both chefs shared their own side of the story today: Chiarello insists that he called Dale "Young Man" because he simply forgot his name, while Dale remained pretty unapologetic:

Looking back, I cannot see myself handling it in a different way. When confronted by this 'Master' chef, I took his comments and tone to be insulting. Had this situation taken place with, for example Joel Robuchon, Charlie Trotter, Thomas Keller, Alain Ducasse, I know I would react differently, as I have had nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for these great chefs.

Ouch. But Dale, buddy: screaming at a master chef on national TV is probably not the best career move. And other chefs might not have been so calm as Chiarello. Like Robbie Lewis: 'I would've punched that kid Dale in the face.'"

Re: Top Chef Masters

Dale has always thought of himself as a badass gangster. Chiarello would have kicked his ass. As usual, Richard came off as the most talented Top Chef contestant that the show has ever had. I almost didn't recognize Ilan with the puffy hair.

AS long as Rick or Hubert wins i'm happy.

Great episode, Richard is head and shoulders above most of the other top chef contestants for sure

The whole time I watched the finale, I was thinking "Damn, I wish I still lived in the midwest and could drop down to Chicago for some of Bayless' stuff"

Re: Top Chef Masters

Great finale.

Congrats to Rick Bayless. A great chef and a true class act. Michael and Hubert deserve huge props too for their great work this season.

I hope Bravo will bring this incarnation of Top Chef back again next summer. Would love to see this again.

Re: Top Chef Masters

Sad to see this go. I love Top Chef and LOVED Masters. I just hope Masters doesn't make TC:LV any less interesting to me (haven't watched ep 1 yet).

You only have 2 more chances to catch the season finale. Saturday at 5:30pm ET or Sunday at 5:00pm ET and that's it. No more re-airs.
