Re: Lost -- 2 Hour Season Finale -- "The Incident" -- 5/13/09
I only watch the recap shows that air before the finale, usually the finale brings back a lot of old information and they usually show specific recap shows for a reason.

On a side note, pretty good list here regarding some Lost characters and their dangling storylines.

What generally happens tonight:

The rest of tonight's spoilers. There are some juicy plot points in here, but I would rank them only YELLOW in terms of warning. Spoiler:

Re: Lost -- 2 Hour Season Finale -- "The Incident" -- 5/13/09
I've been thinking. I know a couple of us have thrown out the possibility of the show ending with the Lostie's fixing something on the island that causes Oceanic 815 to never crash. I'm almost wondering if they might have that happen tonight and then have next season be completely different than everything that's preceded. It wouldn't be the first time the show's done something in the finale to totally define the next season.

Re: Lost -- 2 Hour Season Finale -- "The Incident" -- 5/13/09
Like they don't crash and next season we get to see each of them go on about their lives? Seems possible, but rather boring. Other than Kate's stint in women's prison.

Re: Lost -- 2 Hour Season Finale -- "The Incident" -- 5/13/09
I'm not sure where they'd go with it, but I'd guess they could come up with something interesting. At the end of season 3, I know a lot of people were saying the show wasn't going to be interesting now that we knew they got off the island.

Re: Lost -- 2 Hour Season Finale -- "The Incident" -- 5/13/09
Is it 8 already? I can't wait for this to be on! After it's done airing I'll be sad though I think. 8-9 months without new Lost and when it returns it will be for it's final season. I'm both excited and sad all at once. Mixed emotions. :) :(

I don't think they would slap the audience in the face like that. |

My theory (and it's all I can think up): I just don't think they can show a cool bomb like that off without exploding it at some point. My opinion is that the incident happens before Jack can set off the bomb, the bomb and certain people get sent to 2008 or 2009, then it explodes. Next season picks up with Locke and the Others in 2007, a year or two before the island faces destruction. I only guess this because many of us expect the 77 losties to wind up in the present again and this is the biggest swerve I thought about. |

"It never happened on the show! We will rewrite all history!" = cop out = "it was all a dream..." = I will never forgive the writers. Along with most of the audience, I presume. I'm sure they are aware of this too. By the way that poster is awesome. Whoever designed that did a great job. |

I'm glad Groucho gets (apparently) gets my Star Trek reference.

Re: Lost -- 2 Hour Season Finale -- "The Incident" -- 5/13/09
I watched the season over this week and while it's not much, I found something that made me chuckle during 'Namaste'.
When Sawyer first brings Hurley, Jack and Kate to the Dharma processing center Hurley asks him something along the lines of 'what if one of the Dharma workers asks who the president is in 1977'. Sawyer shrugs it off and tells him to be serious, that isn't important to them sneaking into the Dharma initiative. |
