Yes, I know some people here had doubts that he could be clean off of pain killers in 24 hours..so now we know why.

For those interested, the final scene was filmed in my hometown (Morris Plains) at Greystone Park mental hospital. Right off of Central Ave in Morris Plains...and right down the street from my old house on Glenbrook Road. Very cool! Props to the production team for using an authentic Jersey locale.

Yes it is. They have done a TON of work on the place. It is now mostly out patient stuff now.
Also the actual facility is in four different towns. That main building in the show is in Morris Plains. Then the other parts are in Morris Township, Randolph and Denville (I think it is, on that last one).

When I was a kid, I used to hear about Greystone and Overlook. I wasn't sure if GS was still open.
I grew up in Bloomfield and lived in Woodbridge before I moved down South.

Here's the thing I have been wondering
I think we were all surprised at the strung out, sick junkie look of House had at the end of the episode. But it has always really been told through his eyes almost entirely. So question is:
Has house really ALWAYS looked like this and it was the first time we really saw how far he has fallen into addiction?

I may be totally misinterpreting the whole ending of the show, but here's my take.
The implication is that the whole character is a persona adopted by Wilson brother. It is a drug induced hallucination. The man we see at the end is actually Wilson's mentally ill, drug addicted brother.
This would challenge the whole premise of the show. As unlikely as it is, it would be a a ballsy move by the writers and it would definitely piss off a great number of fans. Myself, I'd say go for it. Challenge peoples perceptions.

This week's issue of TVGuide had a rather poorly timed article about last week's episode of House. A doctor was complaining about the quick detox House went through and that it "sends the wrong message."
Don't places like TVGuide have these episodes a few weeks in advance? They didn't know about the finale?
Either way, I was laughing to myself as I read it yesterday.

ok..so maybe i'm missing something.
He hallucinated the detox, so he didn't really detox and was still popping vicodin. So he's going into the "Mental Health Center" for drug induced psychosis?
Or is there some other disorder going on?

The ending definitely blew me away. Past few weeks have been so refreshing since the Kutner suicide.
Was not remotely expecting that. That's crazy. I wonder how it will pan in to next season.
He doesn't even know that he's popping the Vicodin so maybe it's not a drug induced hallucination. Crazy shit.
