House -- Season Finale -- "Both Sides Now" -- 5/11/09

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

The team must deal with a patient (Ashton Holmes) whose brain is at war with itself (left side vs. right side). Meanwhile, House refuses yet again to work in the clinic, so Cuddy foists an unusual patient (Carl Reiner) on him. Amber: Anne Dudek.

There is no way this season finale will be able to top last seasons. I am looking forward to seeing how the House/Cuddy sex thing plays out and whether House will finally rid himself of the Amber alter ego.

At what point did everyone decide that TV shows should be shot by hand held shakey cams?

Wow. I did not see that coming at all. I am shocked...

So I was a little distracted at the end but if I understand it right he completely imagined him and Cuddy sleeping together? It was all just a drugged up hallucination?

Yes. It was nice to see Kutner as a hallucination too.

That's how I took it. So part of next season House is in the nuthouse? That could be some comedy gold.

I assume next season will pick up with House getting out of rehab/the mental hospital. Typically, on House the season premiere picks up a few months after the previous season finale.

Yeah, I know. I'm just hoping they deviate from that. A change up from the illness of the week would be a bit refreshing.

That was crazy. Like the antics w/ Cutty and House with respect to Carl Reiner's character. Seemed kind of a throwaway, though. He could've had his own episode. That hallucination thing was nuts, especially with Kutner showing up.

I was more caught by how bittersweet the filming of Cam and Chase's wedding was for Jennifer Morrison and Jessie Spencer in light of them calling off their own wedding a few years ago. But I'm sure they've made their peace on their relationship by now.

my wife said the same thing. she's like "it must be hard to have a wedding on the show after you called off your own wedding."

The minute House and Cuddy started going at it last week I thought he could be hallucinating the entire night with her. I though maybe she wasn't even in her office when he went back to see her. But they made it pretty clear that if it wasn't the drugs it meant he was crazy and since he apparently kicked the drugs I didn't think they would go there. Since he didn't actually stop taking the meds I guess it's still possible they are responsible.

Damn. House still got it. What a mind-fuck. They got me there. Fuckin' A.

while a good episode, they tried to go for the mind-fuck like "House's Head" and failed.

I really love the show, but even the season finale's are getting formulaic.

Pretty good season finale, but definitely not the OMFG kind.

I was quite surprised by the revelation of House hallucinating the sex thing with Cuddy and pretty much most of the events from the last episode.

Chase and Cameron's wedding was nice, although a little weird since they were once a real couple and are now broken up. I heard Jennifer Morrison was dating Amaury Nolasco (Sucre) from Prison Break.

Hopefully next season picks up a few months later with some of House's antics in the psychiatric hospital.

This must have been mentioned before, but why are Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer still in opening credits as regular members while the new people are not ?

I'd love to see next season take place in the mental hospital, even just for a few episodes.

Where else was the red-headed girlfriend from? It was bugging me.

Because it's probably in their contracts?

For me, I last saw the red-headed girlfriend in "State of Play". Her name is Maria Thayer. She was also in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".

Thanks.

I have not seen either, and I don't recognize her from anything else on her resume.

Yeah, I always remember her as Tammi Littlenut on Strangers with Candy.

So what happened with the patient with "The Stranger" left hand? They seemed to have rushed right past what was wrong with him.

I think the whole "it was in your head / dream" shite has been done many times before.

At least this time they revealed it within one episode - but I feel it is a road they did not need to go down.

I hope that they do a few episodes of him in the psyche ward - it will be fun for him to diagnose other patients in there. Plus, this will mix things up a bit.

Also, she starred in "My Dreams" as the Girl of My Dreams.

I was not expecting that ending at all! It was good there was so much comic relief throughout the episode because the ending was just depressing. I can't wait to see how next season will pick up!
