If that's the case, then I'll have to watch Happy Town, while secretly hoping it fails, unless it really is good. But Acker's part in the finale and in essence the overall arc seems important enough to where I couldn't see them writing her out, at least not completely.

Yay!
And Alan Tudyk is one of the stars of the V remake so I don't think he'd be a regular in Dollhouse season 2.

Shocked but glad this got picked up - hopefully an audience will now find it (especially those who didn't watch for fear of a Firefly like situation).

Joss Whedon:
Any thread that contains both "Shpadoinkle" and "Yub Yub" is truly exciting. And anything that reunites me with my stunning cast and my crazy staff (or "room fulla Tophers", as I call them) is nothing short of a gift. Heady times, indeed. We're two weeks away from finishing "Cabin" and now it looks like no summer vacation after all. But oh, the terrible things my brain is brewing... Just wait. We'll make it worth it.
Thanks for hanging in.

I wasn't going to buy the DVD on release day because it'll probably cost a little too much, but as a sign of gratitude for FOX renewing it, I will be there the first day and purchase it. Good work FOX. Now, just keep Terminator...please!

Sweet! I don't watch a lot of television, but this is one that I've picked up. Glad to see it back.

Great news I can't wait for the second season, I do hope it gets a better time slot. I agree with the person who said to team it up with Fringe.

I am surprised it got renewed, with a finale that was watched by < 2 million people, do they REALLY think hoardes of new followers will for some magical reason decide to jump onboard blindly for a S2? Unless they reair S1 again in a better timeslot over the summer, I just don't see this show gaining (or holding) ground.

How to fix Dollhouse.
1. Kill off Topher.
2. More secret ops/military type missions, less hooker/child therapist/midwife missions.
3. Kill off Topher.
4. Hire another hot female lead WHO CAN ACT. Keep Dushku, and if you want to keep the asian alien lady then fine, but let's get some more eye candy on the screen people!
5. Kill off Topher.
6. More Ballard.

The finale was watched by 2.7 million. Still terribly low, but still.

True, but this is Joss Whedon we are talking about (have no idea who even created Jericho). Fox canned Firefly and it went on to make a ton of money in DVD sales. They are giving him another chance and hopefully it works out.

I like Topher. I honestly don't know where all the hate comes from. I honestly think the only weak part of the show is Dushku. She's very attractive, but she is poison to the scenes where she does anything but prance around in skimpy clothing.

Don't know her characters name, but Amy Acker will be on ABC's Cougar Town so I assume she'll be gone.

Re: Dollhouse -- Season Finale -- "Omega" -- 5/8/09
I really hope Acker doesn't completely leave. She's really one of the three best actors to ever work for Joss (at least in terms of what Joss can get out of them; Tony Head can walk all over all of them when you get into careers as a whole), and she was far and away the most interesting person this season. And Topher is a vital character and really no one reflects the problem with the Dollhouse better than him: some geniuses got together and thought it'd be awesome if they could fuck someone who looked like Eliza Dushku or Amy Acker, and they were watching The Matrix at the time. He's so smart that he can reprogram people on a dime and so desensitized to it that he doesn't care. But that dialogue between him and Whiskey at the end of the finale was the best piece of Whedon character exploration all season.
And if the cut budget means less engagements and more time in the Dollhouse, then Dushku should work just fine, A) because it sets up the possibility for it turn to into a real ensemble show instead of just a show with a big cast and a problem focusing on anyone and B) because she works well as a Doll and as some imprints. But cutting down on the number of jobs she takes lowers the risk that she'll be that awful blind girl or the pop dancer bodyguard.
