Prison Break: The Final Episodes -- "The Mother Lode" -- New Day -- 04/17/09

Prison Break

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Michael and Sara hitchhike to Miami, and Lincoln meets with Christina (Kathleen Quinlan), who tells him of her plan to take over the Company and warns him not to meddle in it. Meanwhile, a new foe challenges Pad Man, and T-Bag and Self find something they weren't expecting when they search for Scylla.

It's Baaaack!!! After a long 4 month hiatus. I cannot wait for Friday night.

There are 6 episodes left. The promos have said 5, but the series finale is 2 hours (2 episodes)

Okay, now I have some additional news. Remember back in the fall I posted a thread about FOX possibly green lighting 2 more episodes of Prison Break?

Well here ya go:

Spoiler:

New S4 Poster

Apparently, 20th Century FOX will be releasing a Direct to DVD movie called "Prison Break: The Final Break" which will be a standalone epilogue to the show.

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Pri...al-Break/11657

It's coming on DVD July 21st and will essentially be episode 23 and 24.

Don't freak out though. The producers have said that episode 22 will be a satisfactory series finale. This is essentially something similar to what FOX did with 24: Redemption last year.

This however will not be broadcasted on TV as of right now. So if you want to see the movie, you gotta rent it or buy it this summer.

From what I understand, the studio gave the producers enough money to produce this movie even though FOX (the network) didn't order it.

If you plan to buy season 4 on DVD, which is coming out in June. There will be a trailer for this movie on it.

I know this is really confusing.

Also, if you missed "The Sunshine State" which was the Fall Finale, it airs at 8pm. This new episode is airing in place of Dollhouse this week.

The show will return to 8pm next week.

Thanks for the reminder. I can only vaguely remember what was going on, so I hope they have a pretty substantial recap.

Bagwell has mad reflexes. Loved that scene and Self coming to the rescue and Mahone whipping out another gun and taking out the priest.

EDIT: I'm really on the edge of my seat as to whether or not Lincoln is going to die, lol. Glad the characters are back; liked Michael and Sara on the run and the mother trying to have The General assassinated and having that one guy set up his death via speakerphone.

I am watching this right now and am really kinda bored by the whole thing at this point. I think they 4 months off and the fact that there is a twist or backstabbing every 5 minutes really took me out of it. I'll see it thru since it is only a few more episodes, but I'm definitely glad it is ending.

I was just about to post the same thing. I really hate these breaks.. I was fully invested in this show when it ended months ago, and now after watching this one, I just don't really care anymore. I'll finish it, but yeah...breaks are killing my interest in shows..

I understand where some of you are coming from with these long breaks killing the momentum of serialized TV. However, a show like Prison Break needs the Holidays/Early Spring Hiatus to write and complete more episodes without falling behind. Plus, the actors normally take most of the Holidays off and return to work in the New Year. Hence that is the time period when most shows go into repeats. I mean it would be great to have 22-24 episodes in a row for all serialized shows, but I just don't think it's feasible especially since the TV season is 36 weeks long.

Re: Prison Break: The Final Episodes -- "The Mother Lode" -- New Day -- 04/17/09

But, going back to this episode. I really enjoyed it. It was a very entertaining return from the 4 month Hiatus. I did need to watch the "Previously On" part to remember a few things that happened last December.

Kathleen Quinlan looked like she had some major work on her face. Other than that, she appears to be a very solid Villain. She's a got a very Cold and Bitchy Vibe about her.

The most hilarious part of the episode was when Self, Mahone and T-Bag raided that Church and Self flashed his badge and said, "Homeland Security....We're here to investigate Animal Cruelty Violations!!"

I thought the most hilarious part of was the recap of the last episode with the two guys in the red dune buggy thing getting hit by the car. It's so obvious that it's two dummies in there, it's almost like they didn't try to hide it

Ratings were absolutely terrible for this episode. Can't believe only 3.38M watched this Live.

Also, did anyone notice the slight revision in the opening credits with the wide shot of Miami instead of the Warehouse in LA? I guess the remaining episodes will be set in Miami instead of LA.

Do you have Tivo with a season pass? Or do you record this manually? Or do you watch this Live?

Well, now you know. Friday's at 8pm for the next 4 weeks. It's actually 5 episodes total since the series finale is 2 episodes.

Plus, there is a direct to DVD movie coming out in July as well as I posted above.

I just want this last season to be over with. This episode felt off to me, but I'll stick with it for the remainder of the episodes. Not sure if I like the inclusion of the mom for the conclusion of the Prison Break ride, mainly because the emotional stress felt by Linc and Michael feel forced with Linc or will feel forced with Michael.

Is there a rule on this forum that you can't post threads about a show until the day it airs?
Because I think in a case like this, it may be a nice idea to post it the day before.

I assume he didn't check his TV Guide listing or surf this forum on Friday. I posted this thread at almost 3am on Friday to remind some of you that it was back.

Maybe Fumanstan needs to get a Tivo with a season pass on the shows he watches? So he won't have to remember to record this?

It is ridiculous. They've gone with revisionist history again (much worse than resurrecting Sara this time). Michael and Lincoln were supposed to be HALF brothers when the show started which is why they have different last names. So they either share a father or a mother but not both! We already saw their Dad die so the mother can't be both their mothers as the show is now being written. That sort of sloppiness is inexcusable.

I'm glad this show is ending. Wrapping with the direct to video crap is just BS. So I won't get to see those final two in HD?

That's actually not correct. I've watched the series since Day 1 and Michael and Lincoln are full brothers. Michael took his mothers maiden name, which was Schofield. When Michael was born, their father Aldo abandoned the family and Michael never knew him, which is why he took Schofield as his last name. Kathleen Quinlan's characters name is Christina Rose Schofield.

The Direct to Video movie is also being released in Blu Ray if that helps. But, you don't have to watch it if you don't want to. It's really only an epilogue to the series. The producers said the actual series finale will be satisfactory.

Re: Prison Break: The Final Episodes -- "The Mother Lode" -- New Day -- 04/17/09

My step-mom's son-in-law is a sound engineer for Fox Studios - and works on Prison Break. So my dad got to meet the guys a few weeks back (specifically Purcell and the General - forgot his name). He also got to meet some writers and was told that there will be two more episodes that won't air here -- but in Europe only.

Now I don't know what that means or if my dad is confused by what the guy was saying. I'm assuming those missing episodes are the "DVD movie" but who really knows right now. I gotta believe they'll at least make the DVD release when it comes out.

PS - Lincoln looks short and stocky on the show, but he's really like 6'3" -- big dude that just towered over my dad.

I'm glad it is back - but they keep adding more twists - couple that with the long time off - I kind of don't care at this point.

I know things will pick up, but I am glad to see it go. I just hope there is a good ending that ties everything together.
