Re: Dollhouse to be cancelled?
Lamphorn, I don't know if your aware, but the Sarah Connor character had John at age 18. John is suppose to be 16 years old and Lena is 35. It's entirely plasible for her to be his mother in TV land.

Re: Dollhouse to be cancelled?
I watch Dollhouse each week. I dont look forward to each new episode the way I looked forward to a new episode of Buffy or Angel. It isnt in the same league as those shows, unfortunately.

I'm currently halfway through season 2 of Buffy and the wife and I are struggling to continue. I'm glad I didn't watch these before Firefly or Dollhouse or I'd never bothered with either. I know It's not the popular response, but..

Good to know. We just finished the two-parter with the other slayer if that gives you any indication of where we are.

Re: Dollhouse to be cancelled?
I've been watching Dollhouse, but am struggling to get through the episodes.
I keep wondering how they find all these clients while remaining an agency that nobody knows about. |

Hell, those shows even got me invested in 3rd-tier characters like Joyce and Lorne (RIP, Andy).

Re: Dollhouse to be cancelled?
Of course it is in danger, I watch it, Journeyman, Bionicwoman, John Doe, Dollhouse, Terminator etc... (Heroes is safe for now) normally I was NOT going to watch new shows until they are proven to have a complete story line, this is why, the shows I like to watch do not get the mega ratings, I do not feel like watching some talent show, poorly done sitcom a cop, doctor or lawyer show to have it stay on the air, why cannot people expand their viewing habits a bit so some of these shows can stay on, Journeyman was good and at least it tired up a few things.
Dollhouse is getting better as it goes on, not sure how it could turn into a several season show though, I think many story ideas need more then a couple hours yet less then five seasons. |

You are closing in on pure awesomeness. I got a friend to watch the series recently, and he was lukewarm until the 2nd half of season 2. You are pretty close to Whedon's personal favorite episode of the series. Enjoy!

FYI - Michelle Ryan in the recent Dr. Who special -. And to stay on topic I haven't watched past the pilot for Dollhouse. Maybe over the summer I'll go through the first season. |

What Anubis said. Keep going! If you aren't sold by the end of season 2, you have my permission to give up. ;)
Dont worry about it being the "Unpopular response". I love Buffy and Angel, and havent seen one episode of Firefily or Serenity. Have no real desire to either. Talk about an unpopular response. |

They better not cancel this show. It deserves a second season!

PaleyFest: Whedon talks 'Dollhouse' survival chances
“So right now I’ve gone from a sort of place of ‘You don’t even care, nobody loves me’ [laughs] to a place of God, I can’t believe I’m saying this ... hope. “We might actually get the chance to do what we’re dying to do, which is tell more of these stories with these crazy people because we have so many more yet to come,” Whedon said of the series in which Eliza Dushku (Buffy) plays an “active” whose memory is wiped and replaced to suit various “engagements.” “Basically it’s what happens in the next few weeks; we have a new lead-in (replacing 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'), we have a few more episodes coming up — whether it’s 12 or 13 — they are fierce,” he added. “They are ridiculous; I am so proud of them. We’re going to go out this season with a bang, and hopefully we’ll get to come back for Season 2.” Whedon makes a good point here, about Prison Break moving into the Terminator slot. Break should give Dollhouse a stronger lead-in, though Fox will also want to see Whedon's show take advantage of it. Whedon also discusses the 12th and 13th episodes. One of which is scheduled to air, and the other is not, along with a a couple ever-amusing What the Silly Network Suits Said anecdotes: Whedon said Episode 12, titled “Omega,” does serve as a season finale but that the birth of the 13th episode was “very strange and they (the network) said, ‘Can’t you do a clip show?’ and I said, ‘That seems lame.’ [Laughs.] And they said, ‘Can’t you just show the pilot?’ And I’m like, ‘Not only would it make no sense but we’ve cannibalized it for parts and it appears in almost every episode.” As for the 13th episode, titled “Epitaph One” and written by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), he said the DVD deal was for 13 episodes (the drama’s pilot episode, “Echo,” was scrapped and is considered the first episode despite never having aired), Whedon told [the studio] he could shoot a “weird post-apocalyptic horror movie on the sets on video with a whole new cast for about half pattern and pepper it with scenes of these people (the same cast) and do it while we’re filming everything else and it won’t cost you hardly anything and it will be the strangest, most awesome thing you’ve ever had. And they were like, ‘You had us at half pattern.’ ” More. |
Re: Dollhouse to be cancelled?
Well, I'm still cautious as hell, but it's nice that Whedon seems to be bringing himself out of his funk.

Re: Dollhouse to be cancelled?
I think it is a really bad sign that the DVD set for season 1 is scheduled for July. Normally, fox will have the DVD release of a show right before the new season airs. Seems like they already made their decision...
In my humble opinion the show keeps getting better and better and I will be upset when they cancel it. |
