I dunno. I'm just not feeling these two episodes. If the Michael Scott Paper Company turns out to be anything but a total failure, then I'll be stunned.
I mean I'd be ok with it if Michael were doing some somewhat innovative/intelligent things, but they've basically been sitting around their "office" doing nothing. The fact that they made a sell through the pancake thing is a bit far fetched considering they didn't even have business cards.
I think Nana should take over as CEO. She had some good points.
I'm kinda digging the Jim story line. The fact that he's been coasting on his charms for this long is finally starting to catch up to him. It'll be interesting to see if he takes this opportunity to grow a bit.

I will comment that Ryan becoming such an outright jerk over the years is strange to me. There was no sign of that in the early seasons of the show, as he then seemed like a decent person, serious about his career, if somewhat cynical about working for DM and Michael. The way his character has developed over the last few seasons into an almost cartoon-like extreme ass is one of the areas where the show has lost some believability for me.

I have a feeling that they're building to something. My guess is that Charles fires Jim (who is hired by Michael), finds out about the Blue Cross discount and tries to revoke it, Blue Cross walks and is picked up by Jim at Michael Scott, they move into the former Prince Paper offices, Charles eventually gets shitcanned by DM, and DM tries to merge with Michael Scott who refuses that offer stupidly but instead takes his old job back.

The first episode was decent but the second was good stuff. The jam between Dwight and Andy had me rolling. The Lady Gaga opening was perfect too.

Did anyone else notice in the last 30 second snippet of the 2nd episode when it was Oscar and Angela sitting together Oscar was drinking out of his own NBC mug with his face on it? Classic

I don't quite get what happened after Jim tried to give his "rundown" to the boss. Who did Charles tell him to send it to?

He told him to forward it to the list, probably upper management, but Jim, like the viewer, has no idea who he meant. Probably one of those things he should have known but never had to worry about before.

Kelly made them for her America's Got Talent finale party. In that episode, Jim and Dwight couldn't figure out why they were getting bad reviews, but figured out that Kelly was making them look bad to Michael because they didn't come to her party. The things I remember.....

Speaking in meaningless jargon is one of the things that make Miner a really terrible manager.

In the season 3 episode The Convention, I could swear that Michael strikes a deal with HammerMill to have them provide Dunder Mifflin paper. Someone says that they are exclusive to Staples and Michael says he has struck a deal with them. So yep, they don't produce their own paper me thinks.

The more I thought about it, the more it bothered me that Miner allowed, much less, initiated soccer talk in the office. It seemed like a break in character for him to talk about something other than work. Not a big deal as I know it set up the further debasement of Jim, it just kind of stuck out to me.
