Geez, seriously how do some of these skits even make it on air? The Grease song one was just plain lazy. Just goofy faces. They must've really cracked themselves up in rehersal or something. I'm watching it as I type this and I can barely remember the skits that have come on 5 minutes ago.
The only reason to watch SNL now is for the Digital Shorts (although this week's wasn't that great).

That's because SNL had nothing to do with it. That's a song off of Andy Samberg's comedy troupe The Loney Island's debut CD. Rogen filled in for whoever did the actual song on the album.
I love Rogen, but this was a terrible episode. I got a few chuckles out of the cellphone skit, and the Muppet skit at the end. That was it.
I don't blame Rogen. It's not his fault the writers are terrible.

I only watch SNL for the Digital Shorts, and Andy. Id been waiting to see what he would do with Like A Boss, since I heard it on the CD

And the sad part is that Seth's delivery wasn't half as funny as Jorma's on the CD as the interviewer...the bit at the end KILLS on the record, it didn't hit nearly as hard in the short...I'm still hoping for a digital short of Lonely Island's "BOOMBOX" but I think other cast members will probably start to tire of those guys hogging the spotlight, so I doubt we'll get it... but certainly hope so... and with Timberlake coming up soon as host, we better get a short that is worthy that week!

I also really want a "Boombox" video. I expect we'll probably get one. If not on SNL, maybe the Lonely Island guys will make it on their own.

I've officially signed off on this show. At one point I would stay up to watch it live. Then I would tivo and be sure to watch the next day. Then I found that I would tivo them and have no desire to actually watch them, even with the ability to fast forward through the dreck.
Goodbye SNL.

Blegh. Most of the episode was really terrible. My borther and I had a hard time figuring out what happened the last time Rogen hosted. We finally realized during the last sketch that he dressed up as Rowlf last time too.
Vinny Vedecci was good, as usual, but I'd like for them to mix it up a bit more.
Comic strip sketch - Copy and paste job of the Broadway sketch, which was mediocre to begin with. I can't stand Samberg's Cathy. Fey nailed it on 30 Rock and the week after Samberg blew it on Weekend Update. This was last season.
"Grease" sketch - Really lazy sketch that sort of just ended. Thank god for that much.
Cellphone sketch - Lousy excuse for Hader to do his voices. I love Hader and think he's really talented, but this was less a sketch and more a showcase for his mimicry.
Muppet sketch - One decent line: "Let's get out story straight: We were just singing songs and being friends."
Highlight of the night was the Milestone High sketch.
They should really get someone to co-anchor with Meyers. I was also really unimpressed by the Digital Short. I don't care for the graphic shock humor.
I'm definitely looking forward to the YYYs next week.

I agree 100%. I don't know why they didn't just use Jorma in the vid. His read had perfect timing, and was hysterical. Seth Rogen just seemed to be saying the words without any comedic timing or emotion. That vid could have been much better.
I also really want a "Boombox" video. I expect we'll probably get one. If not on SNL, maybe the Lonely Island guys will make it on their own.

I would also like to see Sax Man and Dream Girl.
As far as other cast being jealous, they should be happy they make people like me watch. Id rather see a 30 min digital short show than SNL

I laughed my ass off at that. "It's like listening to Elvis Presley have sex with Conway Twitty while Dolly Parton watches!"

A few funny moments this week. I enjoyed the Muppet sketch, as well as the cellphone/voice sketch. Seths tirade about Obama's and teh Queen's penchant for gift giving was funny. Comic strip bit was funny, until Samberg came out.
When are they going to have a musical guest that isn't god awful? Its gotten to teh point that the musical "performance" is an automatic fast forward to get to Weekend Update.

I echo most of the sentiment here. This week's show just really sucked but I don't fault Rogen for it. I also thought I had seen this one and was almost about to delete it off of Tivo.

I enjoyed it, but it was a very recycled show. For some reason I really like those country music sketches. Forte looks ridiculous and the lyrics are funny, plus the long run at the end they do is hilarious. Liked the Muppet Sketch too.

Show was very weak, but that happens often enough in a season of SNL. I still stick with the show for the occasional genius they pull once in a while. Also for great hosts like Steve and Alec.

Even though I love the whole album, I've been wanting a Boombox video more than anything. The song is not only very catchy with a good beat, but funny as hell.
"It was just a bunch of old white people dancing..."

I think if anything, SNL kind of launched them from out of obscurity (I first heard of them in 2002 or 2003 with a video online called The Nintendo Cartoon Hour) in to internet sensations. So, if SNL should ever be put out of its misery, I'm sure Andy Samberg and crew will still be around.
