The Simpsons will end their run in May!
TvGuide.com is reporting that Matt Groening and Fox have decided to end The Simpsons in May due to the decline in ratings and quality of the product. According to Groening, the production team decided that 20 years was enough and he didn't want the show to end leaving a bad taste in the fan's mouth. There were 6 episodes already produced for the 21st season, but they will be released on DVD and be counted as part of the 20th season.
Fox plans to replace The Simpsons with Seth MacFarlane's Cleveland and the other Family Guy spin-off, Mort.
According to Groening, the plot for the Simpson's series finale will be:
