These simpsons threads keep getting quieter.

OK episode. I liked the Irish culture experience and the police raid was funny.

Didn't catch the whole episode, but I liked the reference to "Once".

Re: The Simpsons -- "In The Name Of The Grandfather" -- 03/22/09

This was the first episode of The Simpsons to air internationally before the US broadcast. It first aired last week on St. Patrick's Day in Ireland...wonder how they felt about some of the episode content.

I still love The Simpsons. Sad to see it often gets overlooked nowadays.

Not a bad episode. The Q*bert gag had me rolling.

Good episode - loved the line about how all the half wit Irish are employed as cops in the U.S.

It just seemed to me that they didn't have any idea of how to end the episode. Just for once, I'd like to see Homer give a good court defense ... I mean, shouldn't he be getting better with how many he does?

It was an OK episode, but it could have been better.

and what about the Kathy Ireland thing? Did she really refused to appear in the Simpsons?

I liked a bunch of the billboards and quick site gags, I think my favorite was the billboard for U2's Moving Company "We Move in Mysterious Ways"

Edit-grabbed a screen cap off hulu

I liked the Yuprechans, Q-Bert and the Once reference. Not a great episode, but enjoyable.

So, I take it the Simpsons have become independently wealthy. Buying a top of the line Hot tub, flying the whole family to Ireland, and then buying the pub on the spur of the moment.

wow..all i can say, perhaps you were watching the News Hour before watching this episode? It's the Simpsons, it doesn't have to nor should it make sense. One minute the Nuclear Plant is located in Homer's backyard, next a grave yard, then a highway. My point? Logic need not and apply and if you should check it at the door. This kind of reminds me of the people arguing in another thread about Michael's actions in last weeks episode of the Office being too unrealistic. It's a sitcom; lighten up Francis

Re: The Simpsons -- "In The Name Of The Grandfather" -- 03/22/09

I just lost it when grandpa busted the hot tub, and they did an extended gag of the whole family flopping on the ground like fish.

Homer (banging the trash can lids) "Go back to your day spas!"

They had a gag that the hot tub was offered with "0% Financing"

The Simpsons are living like true Americans - they get everything they want, and use credit to get there... last week Homer said he was getting money from his "home equality loan."

Trust me, I realize it's unrealistic. I was actually considering putting some sort of smilie in my post so people would understand that I was joking. I wasn't serious, yet that's what kept popping into my head throughout the episode.

Gotcha, chalk that one up to sarcasm being hard to detect in written communication
