So who's sticking around for episode 2?
Nice to hear all the positive reviews from this board.
Also, who thinks the ratings will drop below 11M this week?

I'll watch it, but I'm still waiting to see what the show is going to be like. The pilot was the kind that introduced the characters, but didn't show the concept because the story was so specific to the characters. I like Fillion, but this show could become very generic.

I thought the 1st episode was quite good. Fillion does have alot of charm.
Stana Katic kind of reminds of Mischa Barton and Mariska Hargitay combined. She was actually pretty good being the tough girl hard ass.
Susan Sullivan has aged quite a bit. But, she was good as Castle's Mom. I remember when she was on the Hulk pilot and Falcon Crest back in the day. She was quite a looker.
It's got 9 more episodes, so hopefully it finishes the season strong.

The interpersonal stuff is more interesting, wonder how long they can keep up peeling back the layers on these 2 main characters.

It was okay. Not quite as good as last week. I was a step ahead of them the whole way, until the killer reveal, though.

I enjoyed it. The mystery wasn't that great but the character interplay certainly was.

Not sure about the critics... but can't a show just be entertainment without some deep level of meaning or message?
The formula may not be the most unique (solve the weekly murder mystery), but the I think the dialogue is very good, the chemistry between the two man characters is good and the show has it's amusing moments - "You can lie to them?"... and then the later "just stay in town". It's not The Wire (again everything comes back to The Wire!) in terms of depth and complexity, but it is enjoyable and as mentioned above the character interplay is pretty good - I also like the relationship with the daughter and even the Mom is growing less annoying (much like Burn Notice?)

I liked it, didn't love it. The lead characters' interaction is the saving grace. I agree the mystery wasn't anything special. I don't like the mother or daughter characters. They're both very gimmicky.

I saw the pilot by pure coinsidence since I was fliping channels, and liked it enough but I didn't know the show would be on last night until I flipped through with 3 minutes left. maybe I'll catch in on hulu or something.

Considering the dozens of shows that couldn't hold my interest even through their pilot episode, this comes off as a modest winner. Easy-going and comfortable, and a nice change of pace from the intense proceedurals that have dominated the past few season.

I liked it. The mother is not as annoying as the first episode, and I really like the interaction between Castle and his daughter.
"Do you know how many desperate single mom's are in a Manhattan playground? And I was between marriages."
I wish iTunes would hurry up and get the season pass, though. My ABC HD feed is not so great, so I'd prefer to watch in HD on my AppleTV.

Good news for those of you who DVR'd the 1st 2 episodes and are hesitant to watch. Ratings have been really good. Episode 2 got 11.48M viewers and 3.1 in the 18-49 demographic. If it keeps these numbers up, I think season 2 is a lock.
