After the past few shows, the only fifth's I've been thinking about are in the liquor cabinet! If things start going slow, does anyone have a suggestion for a BSG drinnking game (other than the obvious drink when someone says FRAK)?

So tonight my DirecTV receiver goes out and won't be replaced for at least three business days . . .

Man this feels like breakneck pace compared to the rest of the season.

So what the frak was up with Kara? Was she supposed to be an angel after her body died?

I just want to know if it was good (can't watch until I can download from x-box live - no extended cable here).

Well dip me in shit but I liked it.

I don't see why we should have to do spoilers in here but I'll refrain until we get more traffic from people who have watched.

And yes movieking, I believe that's the implication. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the underlying themes of the show.

Personally, I thought the first part was a lot stronger than the second part, which really seemed to drag.

Now that it has aired, screw the spoilers.

So there is a panel on the Sci-Fi channel in Canada, and most people seem to agree that the first part was great, and the second part really slowed down after they got to the second earth. Most people seem to be disappointed that Starbuck's story was never really revealed.

Re: Battlestar Galactica -- "Daybreak Parts 2 & 3" -- 03/20/2009 -- Series Finale

I liked it as well, first part was great, second part was a fitting end to the series. Kara being an angel or sorts was a bit of a cop out but not too bad. I liked how the regular Caprica Six and Baltar saw the angel versions of themselves who then disappeared once they had served their purpose, much like Kara. Someone on this board a while back definitely called it with the first Earth not being our Earth despite all the red herrings they threw in (shots of our Earth in the s3 finale, etc).

The ending sequence was good (gratuitous Ron Moore cameo withstanding), I wonder why Baltar meant about "he doesn't like to be called that" when Baltar said something about God.

Also, am I the only one who mistakenly thought Caprica was going to be a series? It seems like it's instead going to be a direct to DVD movie. So with the "They Have a Plan" TV movie and Caprica movie, sounds like that'll be it for the BSG related universe.

Edit-The parallels to the rescue and the Opera House stuff was great as well, liked how it seemed like their entire purpose in life was just to take those actions in that given moment.

Re: Battlestar Galactica -- "Daybreak Parts 2 & 3" -- 03/20/2009 -- Series Finale

Truly fantastic ending.

Slap me silly, but I absolutely loved the non-resolution to Starbuck. Any explanation would have been disappointing, but I really dug the way they left her.

And the last few scenes with Roslin and Adama. Wow. Greatest television romance of all time? Just when I thought it couldn't get better than Adama slipping his ring onto Laura's finger, they topped themselves with that beautiful shot of him next to her grave. Beautiful.

Frak anybody who didn't like that ending. I don't see how it could have been much better. It answered just the right amount of questions, and yet remained just ambiguous enough where it needed to be - letting the individual decide their own beliefs about certain issues, without forcing a specific agenda down their throats. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, then you aren't as smart as you may think you are.

I couldn't have cared less about Roslyn's death. If it was supposed to be emotional, it missed, IMO.

I love how in the EW blog they say that Tyrol becomes the Highlander

I thought it ended about as well as it could have. All the remaining questions were resolved and I think the main characters got closure. Overall, I liked it.

Ron Moore's explanation for everything that is hard to explain: wizards.

But thankfully you're there to explain it to all of us simpletons. Maybe you could slow down and use smaller words.

I think he prefers to be called Bob...or Mr. Dylan in formal settings.

Is there a need to insult those that may disagree with you?

Anyway, I generally love open ended endings, but only if they are true to the story, and not because they wrote themselves into a corner and didn't know how to do a proper ending, which is how the Kara story feels like to me.

Overall this is definitely in the upper echelon of series conclusions.

I liked it. One of the most satisfying endings to a series ever.

Well, if you took offense to that statement, maybe you are?

I wasn't trying to insult anyone. Just saying that if you didn't understand some things, than prehaps you missed the point of them altogether. If you find that insulting, that's a reflection of you. Not my intent. Or maybe you didn't watch the same show I just did? Feel free to disagree all you want, I don't care.

or Mormon edition. the original series had some tenants or Mormon belief thrown in apparently. It even began with the whole "there are some who believe life on earth..." preamble.

I was actually a bit disappointed they didn't close with the original version...even though I'm a big Jimi fan.
