Those types of ending do not work well, at least not for me.

That has always made it worse, he know he can do it, the writers just continue to make him a dork, Kara figured it out in two seconds, they need to have a good reason why he does not fly.

Maybe I didn't word that right. He flies, ALSO faces off with and defeats Doomsday, end of episode is him looking at, drawing or wearing the costume, something like that. Fade to black, credits.

I do wonder how they are going to end this show, maybe sometimes around the 18th season when Clark finally learns to fly.
