How many suits does he owns? It looks like he wears the same suit everyday.

They want to reunite SBTB's cast. Go sign the petition if you care.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

is it me or does not one of Fallon's opening monologue jokes hit? the sporadic times i've taped him, not one joke gets genuine laughter and this is 3 weeks already. you'd think someone on the writing staff would pick up on this...

The monologue is, for me at least, the worst part of every show. Maybe they should consider scrapping it altogether.

Yeah, the monologue is pretty painful - but I'm still kind of digging the rest of it... I loved when Ted Danson mentioned Fallon's commitment to a clearly tanking bit (their wood whittling) - hilarious.

I never liked (hated might be a valid term) Jimmy Fallon's comedy or screen presence during his SNL years and hoped that his prep for his show would have...made him funnier or something? No luck, the three times I've watched the show, it was uncomfortable and unfunny (not uncomfortable and funny like The Office or Curb Your Enthusiasm). The band is the best part of the show.

Even if you hate him you had to laugh at that hairless cat getting a Barry Manilow Tattoo.

What is up with his gimmick where he thinks he scores with a joke and he pretends he is rolling a bowling ball for a strike?

So...I think I'm done with this show for now. I gave it a fair shot, but I just don't care about it. I still watch it when I remember to because it can be entertaining (e.g., him and Leary playing air hockey last night), but once Conan comes back on, I'll have pretty much no reason to continue watching.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

I actually caught an episode of this last week (it was a repeat of a Tracy Morgan episode) when I was in LA.

What a God-awful, terrible and unfunny show. Fallon is NOT host material. I never liked him to begin with, but even putting that aside, he seems very unprofessional and unpolished. His monologue was terrible - the only good parts of the show were Tracy Morgan.

NBC really needs a wake up a call.

I agree. They would have been better off giving Pat Sajak or Magic Johnson another talk show. Maybe not Chevy Chase, though.

Yeah, I tuned into it this week after giving up a few weeks into it, to see if it got better and no improvement seen. I was going to try to do this last week - but they had re-runs! How the heck can they have re-runs this early in the show! Did Fallon need a vacation already?

I noticed that Lorne Michaels is the "executive producer"; I think that explains a lot and explains the SNL-like flavor of the show - which in my view is dragging it down. I wonder if at some point Fallon will be driven to B-listers as the A-listers start either just doing Fergeson or not doing the later show altogether. Heck, the Carson Daly show now seems well produced compared to this crap!

Anyone know how much revenue this brings in or the economics of this time slot? I wonder if just moving up Carson and the late night poker and just going infomercial route after that would be better.

^Not sure about the economics of the time slot, but Fallon has had more product placement and sponsorship plugs since he started than any show I can recall...like ever.

It does at times remind me of the Wayne's World over the top product placement scene, except WW was intentional. After finding out Lorne Michaels is producing this show, I put this crap on him equally as much as Fallon and they just seem to be trying to propagate SNL all over NBC. I'm not sure how SNL became a 'launching pad' for all this crap and my hope is that NBC withers and dies because of it or there is a tremendous backlash.

At the end of the day my other hope is that Leno has the last laugh by either stealing the audiences for the late shows with his 10show (so that they don't bother tuning in after the news), or he eventually moves to a competitor and puts NBC to shame.

Lorne produced Conan too.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

Love him or hate it, he isn't going anywhere.

After an initial rush of publicity, the 15 most-recent episodes of "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" have averaged 1.9 million viewers, just 2.8% fewer than Mr. O'Brien's average earlier in the season, according to Nielsen.

About 990,000 of those viewers are in the 18 to 49 age group favored by advertisers, about even with Mr. O'Brien's average.

Wow, watching tonights episode. Steve Martin is basically running the show while Fallon giggles along. Oh well.

Yep, just checked the show again. Still sucks.

Unfunny bits and horrible interviews. Fallon is so uncomfortable in front of the camera, it's disturbing to watch.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

I've watched a couple lately and still am not a fan of Fallon. The quality of the show really depends on the guest. It's as if the guest helps him through the interviews rather than the other way around. I was a big Fallon fan when he started on SNL, but then I got to despise him for his childish giggling through all of the sketches. Now I basically PVR his show when I see a guest I like, otherwise I don't bother.

Yeah that was really weird when Martin was pretty much interviewing Paul Simon.

Additionally, it seemed like Fallon was completely in over his head talking to these two guests. Someone mentioned it earlier, but it's very similar to the "The Chris Farley Show" sketch on SNL. Remember when . . . etc.

All in all, I don't mind him, especially now that Conan's back. He has a pretty good everyman sort of enthusiasm about the show. Not necessarily a good thing, but something I appreciate.

The sketch writing on the show is pretty atrocious, from what I've seen though.

Too Bad Lorne owns this franchise and recycles washed up SNL'rs. That being said.. I'd take Dana Carvey here.

The bowling thing is entirely too awkward. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but it's just way too drawn out to be a good trademark.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

I had Conan on last night and so I turned off the TV with NBC on. My wife walks in to fold laundry and turns on the TV. After about 5 minutes, i hear from the living room "wow, this is really bad".

Pretty much sums up the half dozen episodes I've watched trying to give him a chance.

Re: So...Late Night with Jimmy Fallon starts tonight.

Watching the ep with Steve Martin and Paul Simon.

Fallon needs to learn when to shut the fuck up when something potentially good is happening in front of him on his show. I would have enjoyed listening to Steve and Paul talk without his interruptions like "that's so cool." It's almost to the point where I feel sorry for him because he seems truly lost on stage sometimes.

I always record his show and scan through it to see if anything interesting happened, but this is the first one I've actually watched in a while. Hopefully he eventually "gets it," but I don't have my hopes up and am basically at the point of no longer caring.

Nothing from last night with Jessica Beil?

She is another reason to hate Justin Timberlake.
