Ausiello answered a question regarding Alpha. I'll spoiler it. It doesn't really give anything away-- it mainly offers advice: the advice being, don't try and find out who is playing Alpha!!!

Question: I'm dying to know who is playing Alpha on Dollhouse! Rumor has it it's... --Lelia
Ausiello: Let me stop you right there. Trust me, you do not want to know who's been cast in this role. Knowledge of this person's identity will ruin a major Alpha-related twist that Dollhouse boss Joss Whedon has been desperately trying to keep a lid on. Loosely translated into riddle form: What if we were to meet Alpha without knowing we were meeting Alpha? You with me, Lelia?

Ah, so perhaps
Spoiler:
an earlier poster's theory/fear that Ballard is Alpha (a'la Fight Club) is correct? Or, at the very least, Alpha is one of the other series regulars?

If it is Ballard, I guess we'll be informed that he had surgery after he got out of the Dollhouse and that's why they don't recognize him.

Well,

Spoiler:
It's certainly possible. I'm leaning toward it not being someone we've seen in either of the first 2 eps. I hope Nick Martin's casting info is wrong. I clicked on it without even thinking.

Dushku's blank face cracks me up when she is trying to look lost.

I've enjoyed both episodes, but if it went away forever, I don't think that I'd really miss it. I'll keep recording it for now and getting around to watching it, but it's definitely not a can't miss show.

That sucks that Acker is only signed on for the first (only?) 13 episodes. She was one of three reasons why I watched the show to begin with.
