Right. The death itself wasn't a ruse, though.

I was actually going to ask about this yesterday, but thought it was a dumb question...

Fair enough, it's not a ruse. The wording of the question wasn't my intent, but we'll go by the wording of the question.

$408!!!!

Awesome.

Bus, you've added a whole new level of interest to this show for me. You are my hero, as well as a DVD Talk Hero.

Yeah, I wasn't going to count the ruse thing, either...and I bet on it. Drat. Looked like it was going to come true.

Yeah, but that only counts if Sawyer is in the episode!

As for the ruse I took that to mean Locke wouldn't stay dead. Meaning his death wasn't really a true death - e.g. a ruse. He was just mostly dead.

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

I'll have new predictions up shortly. I did ask people to send me suggestions via PM and I got a grand total of zero so far.

They'll be up soon.

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

Alright... I have to say that keeping track of everyone's score is, at this point, going to be an impossibility. Since everything is being done publicly, there's no sense in me creating a database to track the scores. What I will do each week is keep a running tab of predictions that have already come true.

I'm going to see if I can find a workaround for this, but in the meantime, here's Week Three. With the extra week before Week Four (and the end of the season soon), I should be able to find a way.

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

I'm going to try this format. Can someone check my math? I think this is right.

Base money: $78 ($24 + $24 + $30) Irrelevant going forward.

Paid predictions:
Spoiler:
$20 = $10 {001} A foreign language is spoken. (2:1)
$36 = $04 {004} A dead character has a scene.* (9:1)
$20 = $04 {007} John Locke is referred to by someone as Jeremy Bentham (or Jeremy or Mr. Bentham). (5:1)
$16 = $04 {009} At least three of the Oceanic Six make it back to the island. (4:1)
$200 = $20 {020} An entire episode passes without Sawyer calling someone by a nickname.** (10:1)

Total paid: $292

Active predictions:
Spoiler:
$02 {008} Penelope Whidmore dies. (50:1)
$04 {018} Benjamin Linus dies. (50:1)

Total active: $6

Available funds: $286 ($292 - $6)

New predictions (letting the wife pick these this week):
$83 {024} Someone gets knocked out. (4:1)
$29 {026} All scenes in an episode are off the island. (17:1)
$20 {027} Juliet makes her default wide-eyed perma-smirk face.* (5:1)
$42 {029} Sayid is shown building/repairing/fixing something. (14:1)
$74 {030} Sayid kills a "named" character (not a red-shirt or new-to-that-episode) character. (20:1)

Total bet: $248
Total held: $38

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

My bet. I'll have to cross check the previous weeks with my other bets. Won money can be banked week to week, correct? I didn't think anything I had voted on came to pass yet (plus I thought you were tracking) so I didn't look them up.

$10 {022} Someone is shown underwater (camera/point-of-view is also underwater). (8:1)
$05 {023} The word "accident" (or "accidentally") is used. (6:1)
$02 {026} All scenes in an episode are off the island. (17:1)
$05 {027} Juliet makes her default wide-eyed perma-smirk face.* (5:1)
$03 {029} Sayid is shown building/repairing/fixing something. (14:1)
$05 {030} Sayid kills a "named" character (not a red-shirt or new-to-that-episode) character. (20:1)

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

The problem is my spreadsheet can calculate total amount won, but it doesn't let you carry a balance. There should be a simple enough workaround, I just wasn't going to find it in time today.

Sorry, Bus. I didn't see you ask for predictions, or I would have helped you. How were you keeping track before? Spreadsheet?
